Hotel is VERY dated and lacking in basic maintenance. AC does not cool to where you set it. Tub does not drain. Water from sink and tub is dirty and brown. Room stinks. Not sure why this hotel is rated so high. You get what you pay for. Staff are very nice but this doesn't make up for hotel's shortcomings.

Exceeded expectations & will stay again

I once lived in San Antonio, not too far from this hotel/The Quarry/Alamo Heights. All airport locations r not alike & this is a great location cuz u can go in any direction really easily, even better than other airport hotels. I like to sleep in total darkness & quiet in a cold room when I’m exhausted & my room (323) was that, slept great!!! (No airport noise cuz runways & flight paths on other side of airport) Staff was very nice even when I was cranky - again, exhausted- but that’s a hallmark of the great people of San Antonio. Can’t beat price, either. I usually stay in historic hotel downtown so just go out the door & walk around, but this wasn’t that kind of trip. But I will definitely stay here again. If u doubt this is a real review: only criticism is worst holder for toilet tissue I’ve ever seen & the TP always landed on floor behind the toilet, after many try’s gave-up & put roll on edge of tub.

Nice hotel, everything was great with the exception of the small bathroom. I'm a larger man and squeezing in every time I had to use the bathroom. I decided to go downstairs and use the lobby area bathroom. Great breakfast, but we never got to enjoy the afternoon drinks and food. We'll be back. We've stayed at the Drury Inn next door and we always kept hearing the cars racing at night on Loop 410, not so at the Pear Tree. We enjoyed our night sleep so much.👍

The Pear Tres Inn is an established hotel in the San Antonio area near North Star mall now owned by Drury Hotels. The lobby and breakfast areas were spacious and very nicely appointed with colorful touches. We left too early in the morning to have breakfast, but we heard from a lot of people that it was really excellent. The room itself was spacious very quiet with a super comfortable bed and good sheets. The bathroom area is small with a tub and shower combo but serviceable. Shampoo and conditioner was provided, but I was surprised that there was no body lotion. Our primary purpose for staying here was an early flight the next morning as the Pear Tree is close to the San Antonio Airport and offered a free shuttle. The shuttle arrived within minutes of our request for it at 6 AM. They told us it runs from about 3 o’clock in the morning! We didn’t use it, but there was a very nice looking swimming pool outside that several guests were enjoying. I would definitely recommend this property to someone who wants to be in the airport area or 15 minutes from downtown. It is reasonably priced and great value

This is a very nice, clean hotel with great customer service. They served complimentary beer, wine, nachos and popcorn in the afternoons which was great. Their breakfast is top notch for a free breakfast. They had a lot of different choices. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in that area.

In general, this was a very convenient place for a one-night stay and early flight the next morning. Extremely close to the airport and free pleasant shuttle service. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the bathroom door in my room (#106) would not close all the way because it hit against the plastic ceiling light fixture. Also, hotel breakfast was nothing to rave about. But for the price they charge, it wasn't bad.
