Good place, bad service

The hotel itself was clean and everything looked great, but unfortunately the service was really poor. Instead of feeling welcome, I felt like a burden staying here. That ruined what could have been a much better experience.

Hotel was great and everything you’d expect from Holiday Inn. One not of caution is that it is not cancellable without 100% charge. I booked through Expedia and apparently I had the wrong date selected, I think it reset when I hit the back button and I didn’t notice right away. I did notice within 24 hours of booking and when I went to correct, they charged 100% of the cancelled date, even though it was more than 3 months out. This is not Expedia, as I have cancelled many hotels and received 100% credit, this is on holiday inn. Other than that hotel was great other than the check inn desk where it was very hot and humid when waiting in line. Not a great first impression, but everything else was great!

Ideal hotel for travel in / out of Shanghai Pudong airport. The hotel is inside the airport and it takes a 10 minutes walk to either terminal along the well airconditioned corridors, which are inside the airport structure. You can take a cart from the baggage claim to your room door and also there are carts in the hotel to load your luggage and walk to the checkin area. The soundproofing is excellent, I sleep very well despite being sensitive to noise. Clean, comfortable rooms, USA business standard. Lots of breakfast options and their restaurant is open for lunch and dinner too, long convenient hours.
