This is our fourth visit to a Chinese 5 star hotel and our experience was excellent. The staff was very helpful and attentive and communicated in good English. The hotel is well located within 4 minutes walking of the underground. The rooms are quiet, spacious and nice decorated. Housekeeping was ...

Great location near People's Square, Nanjing St etc. Old and basic, smelt of cigarettes, air conditioning did not work. Bathroom was a tiny plastic cubicle. Bed OK, all clean enough. Noisy - a lot of shouting and coughing through the night! OK for a night's stopover if you need somewhere cheap and ...
The hotel was located in a good location. Very close to the train station and buses. As soon as I entered the room I was welcomed by cockroaches scurrying around. It was very nice and kind and clean. If I go to shanghai next time, I will choose this hotel again.
Recently refurbished and restored to what I imagine was its former glory the hotel is wonderfully atmospheric. The Jazz Bar is, justifiably, legendary and the food, atmosphere and views from the Dragon Pheonix Restaraunt were outstanding. Staff were helpful, friendly and courteous.
It's one of my best stay! great view from my rooms, plus the room is very large. beds are comfy. The place is very convenient and secured. I also love the gym at the top floor which made my morning run awesome! Definitely recommended!
Very friendly receptionist who upgraded us to a room with a fantastic view of Shanghai. Room very nice, with all mod cons, but probably, I would say a bit tired. A free drink in the evening was a nice touch too.

Shanghai is always happy to host a variety of technical and business conventions. The Electrochemical Conference on Energy and the Environment, the China International Conference on Lumbar Spine Surgery, and the Spring World Congress on Engineering and Technology are just a few of the conventions held in the city. Many conventions are held in Shanghai hotels that are complete with convention centres, like the Kerry Hotel Pudong.
There is an endless variety of dining options to choose from in Shanghai. Yuxin Chuan Cai is one of the best Sichuan restaurants in Shanghai. There is French cuisine too, found at Mr. and Mrs. Bund or Franck. Lost Heaven is another top pick featuring dishes inspired by tribal minorities found in China's Yunnan province.
Nanjing Road is one of the top shopping spots in Shanghai attracting over one million visitors daily. Locals and tourists alike enjoy milling through markets and shops full of clothing, electronics, and just about anything else one could be searching for. For the shopping oriented, there are several Nanjing Road shopping district hotels available.
Shanghai Circus World is a popular attraction with its superb acrobatic show that combines ancient Chinese arts with modern technologies. The Riverside Promenade is another must-see for anyone visiting Shanghai. It is a beautiful riverside park perfect for taking in a view of the city or just people watching. The Oriental Pearl Tower gives visitors a view of the city from its observation deck, rotating restaurant, or dance hall, each located near the top of the over 400-metre tall tower.
Shanghai is also home to some incredible athletes. The World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, the World Junior Table Tennis Championships, the Kia World Extreme Games, and the FITA Archery World Cup Stage 1 are just a few of the sporting events held in Shanghai.
