Stunning setting.

"I booked the hedgehogs view as a suprise to celebrate my husband's 50th. I was quite apprehensive about the size as although we were only a party of 4 and a dog, we do all value our own space. From the moment we pulled on to the drive we were amazed at the little Hobbiton village in mid Wales. There's a good amount of space inside the accommodation; nobody bumped their heads gandalf style. Everywhere was very clean and well kept. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and had everything we needed. I have given a 4 for comfort as the beds were quite hard (that's only my opinion). I The views are amazing. If you get a clear night sit outside, the night sky is just as good as the day. I was wary when I discovered the goats were free to roam. Our dog was desperate to make friends with them but they weren't so willing but hey kept themselves out the way, just happily grazing. The Highland cows and 3 calves were a happy sight We went exploring the beautiful Elan Valley and its many picturesque dams. We went to the nearby village of Rhayader had dinner at the Crown which was lovely. Everything was beautiful and we will definitely return."

Needs a lot of work

"The views are stunning, the local town is lovely. The first look of badgers view we were so excited. Then we entered to hut. It didn’t smell clean, the floors were dirty luckily there was a broom there so I could sweep up the last guests dirt. The kitchen is in much need of a make over, the sides are in awful condition, the fridge is cracked, the floor is all over the place, it’s starting to dip. The floor boards are starting to come apart this is due to the damp. The whole kitchen looked dirty. The bedroom with the door on the front was perfectly fine, the other bedroom with the window was fine but the window didn’t open with the key being missing, this is surely an emergency exit hazard. The bedroom with the bunkbeds needed the floors sweeping, the top bunk mattress was miles to small for the bed so there was a pillow put in the gap to cover it. Down the hall was there was a mat covering a whole in the floor, it was felt straight away. The floor through out felt like it was sinking. You can see where the whole hut has sunk by how the doors are now hanging, the cracks up high in the bathroom and hall way. For how much it cost to stay for the weekend it think it’s general maintenance should be kept up. Also there’s no way the hot tub is emptied and refilled between guests. All in all, a bit disappointing with the accommodation but the views and surrounding areas are lovely."

The perfect countryside break!

"We had such a lovely stay at Burrow View. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a real sense of privacy. Even though there are a handful of other burrows and shepherds huts on site, the way they’re positioned means you never feel overlooked and you always have a view! The hosts were incredibly considerate, and the burrow was lovely and clean. They’d provided thoughtful essentials like tea, coffee and washing‑up liquid (and even some caramel waffles!), which makes such a difference when you’ve just arrived and don’t want to jump straight back in the car for forgotten bits. We brought our dog and he had the best time. Burrow View itself isn’t enclosed, but we used a long line around the iron fire pit and it worked perfectly. If you prefer your dog to roam freely, some of the shepherd’s huts are fully enclosed and might be a better fit. One of the highlights was how close you are to nature. We were even woken one morning by the pygmy goats trotting across the skylight! Rhayader is just a short drive away with plenty of great places to eat, and the Elan Valley is right on the doorstep with breathtaking scenery and gorgeous walks. We couldn’t recommend it more, and we will definitely be returning!"
