The location is amazing. A quick walk to restaurants, shops & bus stop. The breakfast is great - amazing view and a good variety of food/drinks. The rooms are basic, but have everything you need. Beds are nice & firm.

We just stopped one night. We didn't use spa or pool. But it is in a beautiful spot, near a well maintained park and the hotel is magnificient.

The breathtaking view of Taormina & the majestic Mt Etna from the large balcony are what made our stay unique and enjoyable. The hotel was as expected, old school iconic italian decor but it does need some new life as the rooms are VERY tired but it’s clean and comfortable for our family of 4, and again that VIEW does it all! Besides the reception staff, the wait staff and housekeeping staff were divine and so friendly. Value for money, I’m sure a hotel update would double/triple the rate.

This hotel could be grear but needs some tlc/renovation. Plus points are its well located, has a nice pool and good breakfast. Negatives are it is an older hotel that needs some upkeep, all the electrical sockets are loose/potentially dangerous. The biggest issue was an extremely noisy fridge in the room that kept me awake and you couldnt turn it off as the electrical lead went into the wall not a socket in the room!!!

To start, the property is dated and that much is apparent from the photos so this review is on the basis that the dated decor and slightly out of dated facilities is already known. The pros - the view is unbelievable, of the town and Mount Etna on one side and the bay on the other. The position is also excellent, being opposite the Florence Trevelyn park (which adds to the view). The staff are very friendly especially the barman and cleaners. The bar is good as is the light lunch. The pool area is lovely, well kept and well decorated with plants. The building itself is beautiful, and in some ways the dated decor adds to the charm (the breakfast room is like a 1920s ballroom). The cons - the air conditioning is old, loud and not terribly effective. We were there in early September and it was fine, but in the height of summer it might be quite uncomfortable. The breakfast is fine, but the coffee is disappointing by Italian standards, being from a machine (the coffee at the pool bar is great though). Overall excellent for the price.

The hotel is in a great location but is outdated and in desperate need of renovation. Getting to the hotel was a nightmare with the narrow streets and tourists everywhere. The staff was very nice and helpful though. After reaching the hotel and the tiny parking lot the staff was nice enough to move our car as it was impossible to handle. Overall a good experience and just for the location alone will come back but probably without a car.

Beautiful building. Rooms are quite dated. The shower had no seal and flooded the bathroom each time used; thankfully the additional toilets on the same floor were only a doorstep away and had excellent shower facilities in there, so we used these instead of the room; wasnt ideal but meant the bathroom wasnt flooded each time had a shower and reduced the damp smell that occurs as a result. Reception staff friendly but would attend to you on their time; no complaints but you wouldnt want to be in a hurry. Breakfast was ok, a fair selection but these ran out frequently and was quite a delay in replenishment, again, no complaints but you wouldnt want to be in a hurry. The pool area is lovely and the bar staff always helpful. Parking is expensive at 18 Euros a day; I only visited Lake Garda a month previously and paid 5 Euros a day in a much more secure and spacious car park. Overall, it is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with excellent views. We had a lovely stay, but would have preferred to have a shower in the room rather than the landing toilets.

I think we were a few weeks too early as swimming pool was closed and under repair. If it had been open and the weather was warmer I think the experience would be hugely different. The pool bar looked good but closed Breakfast was a very dull experience indeed and not worth paying for when restaurants in town are excellent Rooms were basic but functional esp when were moved after a noise complaint In a month it will be a good deal as close to town

i don't recommend this hotel because they were very impatient and unfriendly and rude and unhelpful. They would look at me like I am stupid when I didn't know something about this area that i had never been to before. I had to go up 3 flights of stairs with my luggage with no help. i asked if a very old woman came, could someone help her with luggage. The answer was that she should take the elevator up. In other words, no one wants to help you. Parking is horrible. Very tight so they hold your keys. The woman actually gave me someone elses keys by accident. i was so frantic wondering why my car wouldn't open!!! and then she hit a construction fence moving someone else's car. Breakfast was nothing special. The croissants were horrible.
