Spend at least a couple of hours collecting seashells at Ballynamona Beach or Duncannon Beach.

It's well known that spending time in nature is good for us. With that in mind, why wouldn't you travel 25 miles out of Tipperary to Corrin Hill? Marlfield Lake, 19 miles away, is another excellent option.

Touring the Tipperary Excel will teach you about the local culture and the many people who reside here.

Whatever your faith, you're sure to be enchanted by the peaceful atmosphere of Augustinian Abbey.

What could be more fun than cheering yourself hoarse at a rugby union game? Catch the Shannon RFC in action at Thomond Park, located in Limerick, 25 miles away. Or, experience the electrifying atmosphere of a live home game featuring the Munster Rugby.

The Ballykisteen Golf And Country Club is a hotspot for local golf fans. Join the fun with a couple of rounds before treating yourself to a cool beverage at the 19th hole.

Golden, 8 miles to the east, is the home of the Cashel Cathedral and Saint Peter the Rock Cathedral. Why not make your way there and see these popular sights? Or, you could stop at Cahir, 11 miles to the southeast of Tipperary, for Swiss Cottage and Cahir Castle.

The Bolton Library, Cashel Heritage Centre and Dominics Abbey are all close to Cashel, 13 miles to the east. Need a few more reasons to check it out? The Cashel Folk Village and the Bru Boru Cultural Centre are not far away either.

Your eyes shouldn't get to have all the fun while visiting Tipperary. Give your taste buds a little love as well by digging into some of the local food and drink. After all, you can't say you've really experienced a destination until you've tasted its flavours.

Once you settle in and peruse a menu at a restaurant, you'll soon realise that mutton and pork are some ingredients commonly used in the local cuisine.

There's always a local recipe or two you need to try, and when you're in Tipperary, Irish stew (lamb or mutton with potato, onion and parsley) is definitely among them. Bacon and cabbage (pork back boiled with cabbage and potato) is some more traditional fare that's an essential experience for foodies.

Because a life without dessert is no life at all, you should definitely spoil yourself with some sweet seedcake loaf. This sweet treat represents the area in just one bite.

You haven't lived until you've knocked back the local brew. Whether you're looking to relax in a quiet corner or get a bit of liquid courage to mingle with new friends, ask for Murphy’s Irish Stout.

Celebrated throughout the whole country, Saint Patrick's Day occurs on the 17th of March. If you find yourself here during this important day, it'll be hard not to get swept up in all the action!

Time spent in the breathtaking Tipperary region is an enriching experience, and hopefully it will have touched you with its magic. But alas, all good things must eventually come to an end.

If you're travelling by plane, you'll likely be using Shannon Airport (SNN). It's 35 miles to the northwest. Pack up your suitcase, map out a route and set an alarm!
