Good base for Torres del Paine

Pros: The proximity to the national park. Spending the night at Lago Tyndall allowed us to make full use of the admission permits valid for 3 days.
Cons: The cabins should be refurbished.
Location: Torres del Paine is a fantastic group of mountains and the park is a wonderful area for walking, hiking, exploring, and observing nature. Top marks!
We took a cabin for 4 nights, that was really a good base for the exploration of the Parque Nacional (where in any case there were no substitute vacancies in the lodges). The cabin was very rudimentary, with minimal equipment in the kitchen. The shower was OK, with warm water, and the heaters worked. Slight problem with the toilet flush, but nothing a handyman couldn't fix! An OK place with basic comfort, but certainly in need of some refurbishment. Given the price paid for this accommodation, an effort could definitely be made to improve the cabins. Internet connection in the main hotel reception area was good, and the staff was helpful (we had a problem with the oven, and a solution was offered rapidly).
