dissapointing first visit.

This hotel has been described as a 4 star accommodation, but compared to other hotels that I have visited, this is quite away from that. Although being in a great position, the hotel in general is in a poor condition, having dated décor and a low standard of maintenance. My wife and I spent a long weekend there, but had to listen to the sound of lift engineers trying to fix one of the lifts that wasn't working. On one morning in breakfast buffet some of the food selection ran out. The next day the Wi Fi stop working in half the hotel. The heat setting on the rooms hair dryer was broken. The balcony door would not close properly. This was my first visit to Portugal and will not be my last, but I found the whole Boavista experience rather disappointing.

Relaxing friends trip

On arrival we were told that we would have to share a room eventhough we had booked and paid for two seperate rooms- the problem was the hotel was overbooked. This we found quite frustrating and irritating as we had travelled a long journey and were tired. However the problem was rectified the following morning. The view from the bedroom was fantastic and when the maintenance man was called service was efficient. Breakfast was adequate- we had evening meal on only one occasion which was a tropical evening- the food was quite disappointing for this. Overall we enjoyed our stay- the hotels location and views are what really make it.

Short break

Hotel was cheap and cheerful. Bit run down but the price reflected that. The staff were all very helpful and nice. Breakfast was good.

couples break

An average 2* hotel

Poor service, Very dated,possibly a4*hotel in the 60's, Beds too small,mattresses worn out, Ideal for pensioners only,with piped music from 50's and 60's all day. Given a basic standard room ,until we complained about the damp,then we were given a SUPERIOR room(which we had originally paid for)...but this was not much better. Poor dining standards,waiters just placed down new cutlery onto dirty tablecloths someone had just used Roofs leaked badly. No wifi,unless at reception. No air con. No tea/coffee making facilities

rubbish!!!!!

Needs to have the star ratings reviewed,the bar ran out of basic drinks, food poor, finished holiday in another hotel!!!!.

Beautiful views

It's definitely worth upgrading to a room with a sea-view. The hotel was really lovely. Our only issue was the wi-fi. We needed to do some work so this was essential for our criteria in staying at the hotel (they say wi-fi in each room). The wi-fi connected OK but we could not use it as the band-width must be far too small for the number of people staying there. We bought USB dongles instead. having said that, the location is perfect, the pool is lovely and the staff were very helpful.
