our favorite in anchorage

We have stayed at the Arctic Fox many times going in and out of Anchorage. It has always been comfortable and welcoming. Clean, well decorated and managed. Such a better experience than staying in another chain hotel. Jeff was a great on site host to our needs.

The unit was great, clean updated supplied with almost everything you would need for an extended stay. Easy acess The one thing i did not like. We had the two bedroom unit, the couch and chais super nice and comfortble, the room with two beds were so nice, then you get to the room with the queen bed and its a metal frame with a 4 inch thick foam pad not comfortable. It just seems like an oversight. Maybe they had replaced the matress and that matress was all they could find on short notice. This is the one and only thing that i could find wrong.

While there was a homeless shelter nearby, it didn't feel unsafe. There were frequent trains, but it is located near the port. Very close to downtown and maybe dining options as well as parks and museums. Not far from multiple hiking options, either! The room was clean and mostly comfortable - the couch sank in but wasn't bad.

Arctic Fox Inn was perfect. However several Half Way Houses are in the immediate vicinity which made us feel a little uncomfortable as we had to walk through the neighborhood into town.

We stayed one night in a room with private bath. Room was nice and updated. Other reviews about noise were accurate. Our room was on port side so we heard train and ship horns dining the night. Common area was nice. It was set up for breakfast of cold cereals and oatmeal. We left at 4am for an eatly flight so don't know if coffee and other food was set out later.
