I got a room upgrade that was totally unexpected, but certainly appreciated. The room was gorgeous, best views of the volcanoes. Spotless. Staff checked the room twice a day. The front desk staff was wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. The restaurant setting is beautiful with great food. The grounds are beautiful and the spa was soul renewing. Going back to hotel Santo Domingo for sure!!

The rules of the hotel are more important than the welcomeness of the host. It seems that the staff is to educate you. They need to redefine the service they offer. It is an expensive hotel with a very poor service offered.
