Hotel very run down, casino shut down at midnight bar shutdown at midnight. Walking from elevator to lobby there was a strange smell. Probably will never stay again. Atlantic city on a whole is dirty, disgusting and unsafe.

The staff was great but the cleanliness of the establishment was terrible. It stunk, mattresses were dirty sheetes dirty. I had to leave the same night.

I booked adjoining rooms at the Showboat Hotel for a family trip to the Island Waterpark in September 2025, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The rooms were nothing like the pictures advertised on the website. While they claim to have renovated, it feels like a quick patch job at best. The paint smell was overwhelming, the toilets were child-sized, and the tubs were so high you practically need a ladder to get in. The hallways were dirty and poorly maintained, which made a bad first impression. Valet parking was another letdown. I paid for valet service, and they insisted on taking the money upfront the very first night. Later in the week, valet wasn’t even available, which made the whole charge feel pointless. On top of that, when I arrived to check in, staff couldn’t find my Expedia reservation because my son had already checked in early. Even the manager who tried to check me in was unable to locate my reservation. At one point, they were essentially telling me I would have to go home and they would still keep the $800+ I had already paid. It wasn’t until my son told me he had all four room keys that I was finally able to stay. It’s frustrating, because this property used to be a good hotel and casino. I like the concept of a family-friendly resort with a water park, but the way it’s being managed now is chaotic. Dining was another big disappointment — there are no real restaurants, just concession-stand-type food. The water park itself is

Should've Gone to Hard Rock.

The best I can say is that it was a quick trip down the elevator and on to the beach. The bathroom was stocked with 2 bath towels, 1 bar of soap. When you're at the beach, you tend to take more showers. This is the first time in my life I've seen a hotel room that didn't have a coffee maker or a blow dryer. Room service was not a daily thing unless you called for it. Parking was $50 for 2 nights. I had stayed at the Trop the previous week and parking was a total of $10 for 3 nights. I was surprised by the condition of the hotel. Most of the room doors were scratched badly, many of the carpets on the main floor were outlined with black duct tape, and most ice machines were broken. We had to check several floors to find a machine that worked. On a positive note, i did appreciate seeing some of Seward Johnson's sculptures.

I honestly would’ve loved to give the Showboat a much higher rate. But they needs to do something about the plumbing. We stayed on the 10th floor. I had two rooms and the tub in both rooms was terrible. The drainage was not good. It filled up with water while we bathe which made the tub a inconvenience.

This hotel is severely outdated. The room felt like a motel. For as much money spent the expectation was underrated. We will not be staying here again until it is updated. No hotel room should look this way in 2025.
