Glad we only had to stay one night. Felt like we were bothering the staff just by checking in. Room smelled funny, close to a great steakhouse though. Will not stay here again, breakfast had warm juices, pastries , and horrible coffee. I hate leaving negative reviews, but just want to make sure people don’t have high expectations

The staff at check in were not helpful. When I inquired where the room was I was told to go through the glass doors. I had to call about breakfast times and when I called to inquire about internet access, I was told "it is on the key card I gave you". Not helpful. However once I found the room, I was pleased. Very spacious, clean and very comfy bed. The pool and hot tub were sparkling clean. Even though the breakfast was sparce, it was delicious. Coffee, sparkling water and cookies were a nice touch upon check in. Lots of food options close. Even a Costco across the street for gas. Would I stay there again? Yes definitely.

Since I took their on my bathroom door, I had to lift in to close. I went to the front desk twice. I never got service for my room to get looked at my bathroom doors was still not able to close. We will never stay there again and I will not recommend breakfast was not too par. I’m not a meat either all they had was orange yogurt and bananas for a person didn’t care for it was experience I had in that hotel.

Temper your expectations

We usually stay at Marrriot or Hilton properties due to status but this one looked nice in the posted pictures, so we gave it a chance. We learned that it’s better to stick with what’s tried annd true. Our main issue was at check in. The man working the front desk seemed annoyed and lacked the hospitality one expects when staying at a hotel. The exterior of the property seemed like it had better days. The room smelled humid and I also found two small spiders in my bed. Walking through the hallway I could smell marijuana being smoked. Breakfast was pretty good actually. They had coffee, cereal, pastries, and sausage biscuits. The hotel is fine for stopping by to spend the night, but probably not a place I’d stay for a weekend in. We likely won’t be stopping here again, but it’s fine in a pinch.

This hotel was surprisingly pleasant for Bakersfield. Lobby was clean, room was clean (except for a stain on the carpet) and spacious, bed was comfy. We did not utilize the pool or Jacuzzi, however our room overlooked the pool area and it looked clean and well kept. Things that I feel others would like to know as a con: there is no elevator, so for those on the second floor you have to hike your suitcases up a set of stairs. Wasn't a biggie for us, however I can see it being a potential problem for others (and staff did not offer to assist). The "breakfast" was coffee, orange juice, and a Jimmy Dean pre made sandwich. So if you're looking for more of a continental breakfast with choices (pancake, waffle, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, etc like some other hotels have, you will not be getting that here). We also had come downstairs around 8:30am and there was only two sandwiches left in the hot case...not sure if it was reloaded after for other guests, however I felt that was a bit early for a Sunday "breakfast" to be out. All in all, the cons weren't deal breakers that would deter us from staying again.
