HOLIDAY TRIP

Capital hotel was good all round. Good breakfast Domestic team excellent Good value for money Top security level, they tracked a taxi that went off with our bag One snag for me is - bad stale cigarette pong on the corridor of our B wing floor.

Average ~ Nothing too bad but nothing stand out

Location is so and so. Quite old and not very impressed. Short stay 1-2 night is just ok. byt if you can find alternative, i would not choose this one. I wont stay in this hotel again.

Book this Hotel

We stayed here for 9 nights , and we wern't dissapointed in the slightest, the Hotel is Massive, with shops and escalators inside, two big towers and 4/5 resteraunts. If you can try and get a room in the A Tower and as high up as possible 9th floor at least and you get great views over Tianaman Square, which is about 10 mins walk from the Hotel. most of the main attractions are within walking distance, but be warned if you go in summer the heat is sometimes quite unbearable with temps in excess of 38 degrees, and even at night 28 degress, it's like a wall of heat that hits you as you walk out iof the air conditioned shops and hotels. A final word of caution, be prepared for the taxi drivers tjhat dont speeak any English and some cannot read even chinese, (it's not like a london cabbie knowing where every hotel is) some really struggle, however Taxi's are very very cheap a 1hr journey from the Airport to this Hotel costs about £12. In summery I would definatly stay here again

Very Good Hote

The Capital Hotel was our first experience of hotels in China and we were not disappointed. The location to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definately stay here again.

Club room offers are wonderful

The Capital Hotel is a 5* Chinese managed hotel, with a super location, i.e. walking distance to Tianaman Square, the Forbidden City and Wangfujing Street the main Beijing Shopping Street. We booked a Capital Club Room, which apart from an amazing view gives you access to a large Breakfast Menu (normally 128 Yuen) (approx. £12.50 each) PLUS a meal, consisting of 3 dishes, sandwiches, salads and desserts, plus a selection of cocktails, wines spirits, beer or non alcoholic drinks between 5pm and 7.30. We found this an excellent time - as you come back from your daily excursions have something to eat or just a snack, a few drinks and then set of for the evening entertainment. The clubroom staff is very friendly and helpful and the setting quite intimate, as only clubroom guests can use the clubroom lounge (on 15th floor) where the food and drinks are included between 5pm and 7,30pm. There is also free internet available 24 hours/day. The hotel has also several other restaurants, however these are not free to the clubroom guests. The "Capital Club" is the best value for money facility I have ever found in any 4/5* Hotel anywhere in the world.

I would give this hotel 3.5 stars. The location and the hotel room were superior but the hotel had many downsides. I loved the view from our hotel room. First of all, staff at the hotel spoke really poor English. The internet was quite slow and didn’t always connect. They asked me for a 1000CNY deposit at check-in which I found strange. The hotel had many restaurants inside and breakfast but they were ridiculously expensive and mostly empty.

Ei mikään viiden tähden hotelli, mutta ihan kiva kuitenkin :) Yövyimme tässä hotellissa kuusi yötä. Sijainti ihan ok, lähimmälle metroasemalle noin 10 minuutin kävelymatka ja helposti pääsi kulkemaan kaikkialle. Hotellin aamupala oli oikein monipuolinen, vaikkakin kiinalaisia vaihtoehtoja aamupalalla olikin tuplasti enemmän. Henkilökunta puhui vaihtelevasti englantia, mutta aina kaikki asiat hoituivat ja huonesiivous myös pelasi hyvin. Pientä kunnostusta tälle hotellille ja vanhat kokolattiamatot kaatopaikalle niin on jo huomattavasti viihtyisämpi! Huoneissa ja käytävissä hieman tunkkainen tunnelma juuri noiden mattojen takia ja välillä ilmastoinnin kautta kantautui tupakan savua, siitä miinusta...

very nice hotel with a good situation,

Pros: situation, nice room
Location: every sites are reachable with the metro
good standing, good breakfast, not far from the metro (2 & 5) Chonwengmen with good connection to visit the city;. .I have taken an official taxi via the reception to go at the at airport at 6:30 am ; price paid 110 Yuan! as the black taxi asked me 300 Yuan!!!
