Room lovely but could do with 2 bottles of sparkling and still water, as neither my hubby or I like fizzy water, leaving us to share one bottle. Hair dryers in both rooms and Spa are ineffective so if you have thick hair it takes ages to dry.

We stayed in the hotel overnight after my sons wedding. Room was large, nicely furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast next morning was in the conservatory section of the restaurant where wedding guests were all directed to the same area away from other hotel guests in main section. This was nice as we could all meet and chat about the wedding without taking over the restaurant. Food and service at breakfast was also first class. Enfoyed our stay.

Very tired and dated Pool was freezing cold, changing rooms were dirty and the room shower only had a boiling hot or freezing cold setting

Good Country House type hotel to west of Edinburgh

Nice comfortable hotel which has been extended with a lot of thought. Some items are obviously expensive but have been chosen for looks rather than engineering excellence. Lots of pleasant staff who do their best to make an excellent stay. A number of long corridors mean that you need to be fairly fit but lifts are provided where required.

Quality hotel with excellent staff

Pros: The overall look and feel of the hotel.
Cons: The room's windows were drafty but the curtains helped block this
I hadn't realised that the hotel is part of the Handpicked Hotel group and so it was a lovely surprise when we got to the hotel to find I had chosen such a nice hotel at the last minute. The staff were friendly and professional and the room beautiful.

1 overnight stay at Norton House

Loved our stay at Norton House. Lovely hotel, so pleased that we chose to book there. Staff were lovely and very courteous and helpful. We had a classic room, which was very clean and great decor - comfy bed and pillows, slept brilliantly. Used the leisure facilities - which we thought were great (gym and pool, hydro-pool etc). On our return journey we realised that my partner left his jacket by accident, needn't have worried about it as on reporting the loss they reported that they had found it and would post it on - so big thank you to whoever it was that found it for us and to all other staff that helped us enjoy our stay! We will definitely return.
