I was really looking forward to staying here but I ended up moving hotels after first night. I arrived just past midnight & checked in easily, my room was very hot/humid when I arrived & the aircon wasn’t working, I contacted reception who came up & looked at it & then told me it’s centralised & during winter it blows hot air which can’t be changed. He then told me to sleep with the balcony door open if I wanted it to be cooler - couple off issues with this 1. noise 2. insects 3. safety (I was travelling solo). I had an awful nights sleep & I eventually drifted off & after 1 hour woken up at 7am by the neighbouring rooms extractor fan/shower. I spoke with girl on reception (who I can’t fault) & she advised that aircon can’t be amended but moved me to a different (smaller) room to see it if makes a difference. My new room, granted was a little bit cooler, stank of damp & I was unable to turn off the very loud extractor fan in bathroom. I could hear peoples phones in other rooms pinging & people moving about outside. There was also no mirror. I had to make choice between moving rooms again or booking a different hotel, as the day (which was my birthday) was getting on chose the latter. I didn’t want to get a new room to then feel uncomfortable again. I advised receptionist as I left of issues with new room. It was best decision I made (despite not getting a refund) as I felt so much more comfortable & enjoyed rest of my birthday trip. The rooms were clean & staff were friendly.
