Very clean and quite. Lots of room with full size fridge and sink/counter. Great location - nearby restaurants are walkable if you want - and basin side parks are 2 mins walks away. Great location to do day trips in Nova Scotia from.

So when I booked, I selected to pay at arrival. Money was taken out three days before check in, so only expected to pay the extra fee/charge in case of damages. When we arrived we had to pay again for the hotel fee so double paid. The hold on our visa didn’t return for a few days and staff was not helpful at all. If you didn’t have a large amount on your visa this could cause problems for people. Person behind us waiting to check in didnt have enough on their visa to do this and they wouldn’t let them pay cash. A very weird experience will not stay again.

We go to HF quite often and usually stayed in mid range hotels. This time, all those hotels were booked up and we had no choice to book this cheaper but low rating one. It was to our surprise how clean and well maintained this place is. We stayed in a king bed room with kitchenet. The room was spacious and renovation was pretty new, even better than the hotels that would have costed us $100 more we stayed before. The kitchenet has a microwave, sink, coffee maker and a real two door fridge/freezer. Parking is easy. Although not walking distance but with a car you can get to a mall with sobeys, dollarama and other stores and restaurants in five minutes. Overall, this is a very nice and budget friendly place to stay.

Was a little concerned with the low rating in this hotel, but it proved otherwise. The hotel was impeccably clean and comfortable. The only thing a little disappointing is that it has a kitchenette but no utensils, dishes, no toaster not even dish soap. It was nice to have a microwave and full fridge but a few more items in the kitchen would have been great.
