Overall, it was amazing! They upgraded us to a higher floor for our ocean view room. The staff really makes the difference. We wanted this specific hazelnut ice cream every time we were at the Italian restaurant, and 2 days it wasn't there, so we asked, and they brought it out for us. One day, we wanted salmon, but it wasn't being served that day. We asked to make sure. Minutes later, the chef told us to come back and he'll make us some. We said just 3; he gave us 5. The lady that made our crepes was so nice too. Other staff would walk around to make sure you have drinks at the pool or during the nighttime events. The massage we had was nice! PLEASE definitely tip if you can. It really does go a long way, and they appreciate it a lot. We also like that the Riu party is so close! We went to the pink party and neon party. Both were fun, but the neon party is our favourite! They had the Le Twins as DJs that night. Just a few things: - We didn't get our welcome drink. Even asked for it after checking in, but no one came back, but it's ok. - I'm pretty sure the resort is getting renovations soon. I hope so because our room needs it. Some tiles were cracked, curtains had little black spots on them, paint was coming off, etc. Honestly, it's not that bad because you're not in the room for the majority of the day, and the longer you stay, the more you get accustomed to it. - The massage table outside needs to be updated because my face HURT after. It was too hard.

Enjoyed our stay here but there is room for improvement. The staff were very welcoming and the service was good. We tried 3 of the restaurants for dinner before deciding we preferred the variety at the buffet. Some of food was hit or miss, but we could usually find something at the buffet we liked. Overall the food was good, but not great. The drinks were inconsistent, most of the cocktails I tried I did not like. We went to the Riu party next door and were surprised how nice Riu Caribe was compared to Península - apparently they are doing a major renovation soon and it definitely could use it. I think Península was slightly more expensive than Caribe and the only reason I booked Península was because it’s a ‘palace’ and considered more upscale but after leaving Caribe it felt the opposite. The decor is outdated and the rooms weren’t in the best condition so it felt like a downgrade. I wish there was better communication when we checked in regarding all the amenities and schedule of events. We missed a Riu party and waited around for it only to find out it happened during the day and not in the evening. We also found out near the end of of our stay there was a gym and snorkel gear for guests to use, however no one mentioned where they were were or how it worked. We also booked an excursion with Mexico Travel Solutions with an agent working at the hotel and it wasn’t quite as they advertised it to be so that was a bit of a disappointment.

I had an emergency and never went to the resort . I heard about its a good resort but due to surgery i didnt make it . I informed expedia before travel and they told me its allset i can travel after the surgery . Now tbe resort is not refunding the $ or leti g me go there . I called the resort they saying call expedia . Expedia is saying resort is not refunding . I dont need refund i just want to go back there . I provided prove that i went throw sergery and no answer yet its been almost a month . This is not a way you all do buisnes .

Amazing value from the softest white sands to the variety of foods most of which was yummy. Very clean but could use update. Free hot tub and steam room spa were very nice and underused. Generally friendly service. Double beds are full size beds not big enough for 2 comfortably though. Need more public restrooms especially outside by the beach and pools. Capuchino cafe is awesome. Heated pools are wonderful. Iguanas are neato. Dress code for dinner was strictly enforced. The Mexico Folklore show was impressive, and we loved the live bands. The activities were not described clearly. More fitness classes please.
