Everything was fantastic, if I had to make a comment it would be the extra charge to check in before 3 PM. The latter becoming very common in Scandinavia apparently. I’ve paid extra in two hotels just to check in 1 hr before 3 PM. Hotels.com should consider giving this option in pricing or negotiate with hotels as in the end, it’s all about up charging. Shame on Scandic and Clarion Hotels.

The location is excellent. However, it took us a while to find the hotel since the building does not clearly show the “Scandic” name. The room was comfortable, though we noticed a few unfinished details - - some unpainted wall patches and a curtain that was difficult to pull.

We did not get the room type we paid for. We paid for a King superiot room which showed a lounge that we could relax on at the end of the day. Our room did not have this. In fact it had only one chair in the room. This limited us to using the bed as a seat. There wasn't a table either. The safe in the room did not work. We asked for this to be fixed when we first arrived. The receptionist said housekeeping would look at it that evening. Never heard back - nor ant communication about this.We were in room 5016. The furtherest room from everything, literally. Wish we had nit paid for a superior room - not worth it.

The hotel is amazing. Very large. Perfect location…just steps from Grand Central Station. My only issue is that the ad said LAUNDRY FACILITIES and Laundry Service. They only offer laundry service and it is 5 euros to wash underwear. I booked this place for two different stints of our month long trip so we could do our laundry. I am very disappointed. We have to take a train to a laundry mat. I showed the listing to staff, so hopefully no one else makes the same mistake. :(

I love staying at this hotel anytime I come to Helsinki. The service is amazing, and the location right outside the central train station is unbeatable. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet has great selection. Most any place I wanted to go was a short walk, tram, or train ride away. I will be definitely be back!

The hotel is at an excellent location. The art museum is directly opposite. All the main attractions are walkable, I stayed in the new wing. It was modern and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only down side is that the room doors all slam shuts. So you hear a loud bang every time someone enter or leave their room.

Requested a Queen, got a double that barely fit in closet sized room. Carpet badly stained, room poorly cleaned. No accessibility entrance at front entrance. No doorman, bell man. Beautiful historic building, seemed understaffed. Never again Scandic
