It was a good location. Had a small store, "ABC Superette" (sundries), McDonald's and Subway across the street and also a locally owned pizza restaurant and Red Lobster next door. There was ample parking and reasonably priced. The staff was 5 star plus!

The Modern was an enjoyable stay. Comfortable bed with a food shower. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Pool area was pleasant and not so busy as some of the hotels closer to Waikiki beach. Loved the refillable water dispensers in the foyer. Only negative is the lack of crockery cups, utensils etc in n the room. Only paper cups to use with the coffee maker and not a spoon in sight. Would also prefer an electric kettle rather than the coffee/tea pod machine. Lift was a bit noisy so I would request a room further away from the lift if I stayed again.

Kind, friendly, welcoming staff. Great location!

Friendly staff. Great location. Near a small beach/lagoon, but a quick walk to a board walk and wider beach. Also short walk to volleyball sand court. If you have to go to the Hawaii Convention Center, it is about a 15 minute easy walk. The hotel is really nice with a restaurant, pools, gym, and lounge areas. The room has nice balconies and is spacious. Nice view of the beach and the harbor. Great location to ABC cornerstores if you need things.

Check in was smooth even though I arrived at 11am and check in is 3pm. The pool area is large, food and drinks are great and service is excellent. Zack at the concierge desk was amazing and helped me with all my questions. The only recommendation is to reopen the bar at the adult pool.

The worst hotel I have ever been. We were NOT HAPPY about this hotel at all. I won't recommend it to anyone. The setup of the room was terrible. There were two shutters between bathroom and the bedroom which left no privacy whatsoever. Interrupting our sleep by the noise from bathroom was terrible. When we complained and asked for the change, we were told all the rooms are like that but they lied to us because we saw the rooms fully covered wall between the bedroom and bathroom. The staff were not friendly at all to accommodate us. Plus, the room temperature was controlled by central and we were cold even by turning off the thermostat. One of the staff was so rude and unprofessional and If it was not because of my friend, I would have left the hotel immediately. DO NOT BOOK this hotel.

Great place to stay in the middle of things that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Be warned - the bathrooms are see through into the main room. Never seen a bathroom set up like it before but has two sets of skinny, horizontal wooden blinds. Can’t use the toilet without it being audible in the main room.
