I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Bahia Principe was so disappointing and deceptive that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I arrived, things started off on the wrong foot. Despite confirming my booking well in advance, I was checked in hours late, left waiting around with no explanation or apology. When I finally got to my room, it was clear the resort was not as advertised — many of the amenities and facilities were either broken, out of service, or simply didn’t exist as promised online. The biggest issue by far was the food and cleanliness. I became seriously ill during my stay, and I have every reason to believe it was from the poorly handled food and filthy dishware and utensils. This was not an isolated case — it was a pattern. Every time I tried to eat, I was either served cold, undercooked food or noticed my plates and forks were still dirty. It’s clear they are not following basic hygiene standards, which is deeply concerning for a resort serving so many guests. To make matters worse, the staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Instead of being treated like a welcomed guest, I was made to feel like an inconvenience anytime I asked for basic assistance. There was a total lack of hospitality — no warmth, no professionalism, no care. This was marketed as a relaxing, luxurious getaway. The property was nice, but they are currently renovating the rooms and I do not think that it is fair to place someone in the areas that have not been renovated. In my case, I was first placed in one of those areas and was very disappointed on how it looks and how substandard it was. Once, I was moved to the newly renovated area, things improved a bit. The staff is super rude for the most part, but there were a few that were decent on how they treated us, but the majority of them weren’t nice or helpful. Overall, it was my first visit and it will also be my last visit to Jamaica.

I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was absolutely delicious with a good variety, and the beach and pool areas were both beautiful and well-maintained. Everything was clean and inviting, and the entertainment team did a fantastic job—both for the kids and the adults. They were energetic, engaging, and truly made a difference in our stay. However, the experience was unfortunately marred by the attitude of the staff in the restaurants and bars. Many of them came across as unpolite and even rude at times, which really took away from the overall atmosphere. Friendly service can make such a difference, and I felt that aspect was seriously lacking. If the service staff were more welcoming and professional, this place could easily be a top-tier destination. With some improvements in hospitality, I would definitely consider returning.

Although the food was great, the resort itself needs a major upgrade. Our room was not clean upon arrival with stains on the curtains and mold on the blackout curtains, holes in the lamp shade, hair still on the bottle in the restroom, and an elevator that seemed to be on its last leg. There were a variety of food selections and no complaints with that.The walls were super thin as we could hear everything outside our room and every time someone slammed their door. The staff were friendly and helpful but again, the resort needs a makeover as the pictures did not match up with reality.

I had Stayed at Bahia Principe in Punta Cana and was very impressed so I booked with same company in Jamaica. The rooms were not what they show in the pictures, We stayed 4 nights and couldnt get any reservations to any of the restaurants, not sure why they asked us to reserve at check in and they said everything is booked, The beds were very uncomfortable and safe never worked, called front desk everyday and they kept saying someone is on their way, Very disappointed
