Iconic hotel , first five star hotel in India with electricity 100+ year old property. We initially booked executive suite facing city, however that was not so impressive , but then we asked for better room and we were upgraded to grand luxury suite for nominal fee and that was facing gateway of India with balcony and it was very nice and luxurious.

We booked the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai for our honeymoon and had the most amazing experience! The staff were friendly and professional. The location is surreal near the seaside with a breathtaking view. Our favourite place was by the pool or in one of the many restaurants!

Avoid at all costs...very unfriendly staff. They keep harassing guests. Never solve any issues. Never clean the room. They take forever to do any sort of laundry. Will take twenty minutes to serve a minuscule cup of tea at breakfast. When concierge was asked what places he would recommend to visit around Mumbai he basically had no idea. He literally said 'you can Google things and look at photos.' Another concierge kept smiling and laughing while I complained my room hadn't been cleaned that day. Avoid avoid avoid.
