I spent a long time choosing this hotel and carefully read the reviews before booking. The positive aspects are a good breakfast, a 24-hour coffee and tea area, and a convenient location close to the subway and within walking distance of many attractions. I would also like to note that the kitchen staff were very kind, attentive, and fast, which made breakfast more enjoyable. The first disappointment was that we arrived a little earlier and were not given a room, even though other guests were checked in before us. The woman at the front desk was not very friendly, especially compared to Antony, who was much more pleasant and helpful. Another issue was the condition of the lobby and dining area. The sofas in the lobby are dirty and torn, and the leather on the dining chairs is cracked, which gives a poor first impression. Regarding housekeeping, towels were replenished and the bed was made, but the floor was never cleaned, and there was a noticeable amount of dust.

I enjoyed my stay the place was clean and convenient. I have a picture of Macy’s right outside my window. Times Square was walking distance, Madison Square Garden, penn station, and lots of other stores, but breakfast manager was not very accommodating. He served cut up ham pieces in the omelettes and not willing to accommodate anyone that did not eat meat nor pork. There were multiple people complaining about the same thing. He just kept telling us no I can’t help you no I will not make regular eggs no no no. My husband and I got up the next day and went to get breakfast elsewhere. The day before we were leaving, I checked the food and found that he made regular scrambled eggs. The breakfast was not healthy at all anyway, so I guess I really didn’t miss too much of anything

We had a nice stay at the Hampton Inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating at all points during our stay. They stored our bags before check-in and after check-out without charge. The hotel was clean - common areas, breakfast room, hallways, and the room. The room was in really good shape, looking new or new-ish. Beds were comfortable and the room was more spacious than most of the other NYC hotel rooms we've stayed in. The Hampton Inn was one of the cheaper hotels in the mid-town area when we booked it ended up being a great spot in addition to a good value.
