I would have given 5 stars. It was historic, glamorous and super clean. The staff were friendly and fantastic. Water pressure in shower was best I've ever had in a hotel. However--weird problem. I could not figure out how to turn the lights off next to the beds. I tried every switch in the room. Examined the lights. Could not figure it out. I called downstairs and they said they'd send someone, but never did. It's not a huge problem, but if you like to sleep in the dark, it is. So I ended up unscrewing the lightbulbs for the one night I was there, then screwed them back in in the morning. That was a travel first. Anyway, otherwise fantastic property, would probably return.

Wonderful hotel on NYC’s Upper Westside. It’s a short walk to Central Park, American Museum of Natural History, and great restaurants. The hotel staff is simply wonderful and eager to help. Indeed, it’s rare that I have ever run into such a great combo of staff and site.

Stay here was good. Some loud pipes in our room obstructed sleep quite a bit, I would take earplugs. Pipes made sound anyone on the floor used water. We were in a deluxe room. The $10 bakery breakfast is pretty poor considering that doesn’t cover the cost of one plain croissant and a coffee. Decent location if you need to be UWS and comfortable bed. Shower bad.

Great Hotel but...thin walls

The walls are paper thin. Our neighbors weren't particularly loud and we heard EVERY word of their conversation. Hotel is elegant, clean, hospitable and in a super location. Complimentary breakfast was an extra plus.

We loved our stay at the Belleclaire! The staff was outstanding, rooms clean, and the area was perfect for our trip. We stayed in a King Parlor Suite which was perfect for our family. My only feedback was that the photos of the suite on Expedia make it look like the room will have a wall & pocket door between the sofa bed area and the main King bed sleeping area. This wasn't the case for our room, so if you are looking for more privacy do not judge by the photos. We will stay here again in a different room next time. I really can't speak highly enough of the staff!

I liked the coffee and bakery breakfast option, very European. The only issue was one floor smelled like cigarette smoke. They were very accommodating and changed our room.

Reuben checked us in-just terrific and bends over backward to make sure things are as easy and comfortable …ENTIRE staff from doormen to valet to bellhop is effective and helpful. Love this place. Love the staff.

Wonderful little hotel

Front desk staff made the stay extra special! Thank you Mercedes and JV for your kind words and gesture! Room is a little small but more than what you need for a quick trip to the city. Nice clean sheets, bathroom, and comfortable bed! Front desk staff is extremely responsive to all requests. Will be staying here again soon!
