We stayed at Hotel St James for 4 nights and our stay was great. Our room was spacious and clean, and the location is perfect! We felt safe walking to and from the hotel and staff were exceptional. So close to Times Square and the theatre district. Fun fact - Hotel St James is the hotel that Tom Hanks stays at in the movie BIG!! Keep in mind, most rooms don’t come with a fridge, would recommend bringing a small portable one, if you foresee not having one to be an issue. All in all Hotel St. James was a wonderful hotel and we will stay here again!

Location for the price is superb, the heart of Times Square is at the end of the block. Good access to subway stations all within walking distance of about 5 minutes.

Location, location, location! This historic hotel is in a great part of the city. The elevators are original and tiny but work. The rooms are a decent size but the bathrooms are quite small- you can sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the sink at the same time. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. It was a little noisy at night because you could hear the street noise from below but worth it to stay so close to the action. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was a good option for the location and everything but we had a few mishaps. We did not have ac in our room… so a really nice guy came and installed a new window unit at 11:00pm. There was also a 2 in blood stain on the sheets which was a little gross to say the least… but it did the trick, and our goal was to be in the hotel as little as possible so we were fine with what we had!

A bit old and could use some basic amenities such as an ice bucket and ice machine. Needs more electrical outlets and lighting in the rooms. Staff is excellent. The place could use some maintenance but it is clean, serviceable, extremely convenient to the theater district and quite charming.

This is a lovely little boutique hotel, very clean and tidy. It’s walking distance from Times Square, plenty of restaurants and bars near by and the subway is very close. The star of the hotel is Joey who was a delight to meet! I strongly recommend visiting Hotel St James.

No hot water

My bathroom had poor water pressure and no hot water, even after 15+ minutes of trying. Upon informing the desk staff of the issue, while I was checking out, I received a confused look as if I had done something wrong, and no acknowledgement/apology for the inconvenience. Will not return.

It is antique and historical ground. My room was modern. The bathroom reaped of mildew smell and the water pressure was terrible, and there was no hot water most of my stay.

Joey, our concierge, was amazing! The location was great! The price couldn’t be beat! We did not drive so unsure if there’s any parking for the hotel. It is extremely hard to park on the street. So much within walking distance including multiple bus stops and subway lines.

A basic option.with no resort fees or hidden fees. 50 dollar refundable deposit. Room has no fridge but there is an ice machine downstairs so we took a cool bag. Room serviced really well on demand. Yes it was a bit noisy but you’re in NYC. Take earplugs and you’re also so shattered from walking of course you will sleep. Excellent location. Easy deli type place next door for breakfast. Safe and really great friendly reception staff too. Room was comfortable for temperature. They adjusted for us when we arrived. You cant adjust yourself but we didnt have an issue in April. Would stay again for ease.
