Upon checking in manager was nice & friendly. Asked for a receipt... he said he'd get us it by the morning.... surprisingly manager not there, still waiting on receipt. The Room (8) was cold and dirty, filthy behind the curtains, old style furniture suited the style of hotel but falling in bits. The complimentary tea/ coffee cups were stuck to the tray and unwashed. They need a good bleaching! The bathroom - repairs to the grout around tiles was not professionally done, amateur job. Breakfast..... what can I say... Dining hall freezing. Tables badly laid out. Had to ask for cutlery. The cooked breakfast was freezing cold. Settled for scrambled eggs as they had no oil for fried eggs but the problem i had was the eggs were microwaved.... Not good!!! Any good chef should not be using a microwave. Its an old Georgian style house that could be better run. A few wee tweets here and there would go far and make this a beautiful place to stay. Management would need to up there game to get RETURN visitors.

200 year old listed building

A one night stay for staff Christmas party. Room was spacious, warm and full of character. I would urge everyone to consider staying here over more modern guest houses to support a wonderful house that must take a lot of upkeep. Joe the manager was excellent and cooked us an excellent breakfast in the morning.
