Good, but basic, hotel near the station

Pros: Price and location.
Cons: Difficult to have a comfortable shower without getting water over the floor.
Location: Excellent for quick access to the station, trams and shopping. Plenty of cafes/restaurants near by. Give PlanXa a go for dinner.
Booked 4 months ahead of stay and got a good price for room only, i.e., no breakfast included. Breakfast in the hotel is expensive but there are many cafes near by that provide breakfast at a better rate. Booked this hotel due to it's proximity to the station (as we were travelling to watch a tennis tournament in Monte Carlo each day of our stay). The hotel is pretty basic (ala Premier Inn) but clean and provides all the requirements we required at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful as required, all spoke good English. Would recommend if you are on a tight budget and looking for a hotel near the station. Quite a long walk from the beach and Old Town so if these are your areas of interest probably not the hotel for you.

Holiday turned into nightmare

Pros: The staff. Their aim to please and help in an emergency situation.
Location: Location is perfect with loads of bars, restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Great location to explore the whole of Nice.
My husband took ill 2 days into our holiday and had to be hospitalised. The hotel staff organised a doctor to call that led to an ambulance being needed. The hotel staff asked after my husband every day and when I needed to stay beyond my departure date they done their upmost to let me keep on my hotel room. My husband is still in hospital so this is an ongoing saga but for now this hotel and its staff are excellent.

Perfectly placed

Ideally situated hotel, close to the Railway station which enables you to take several trips down the coast to Monaco, Cannes, Menton etc. The hotel is clean the staff are very friendly and helpful. Walking distance of most places in Nice and a tram stop just yards from the entrance. Easily reached from the airport on bus 99. All in all a great hotel for either a short or longer stay.

Perfect room, great location

We were impressed with this hotel and our room (we had a family room - king size bed, plys single with pullout single). We liked the location - along the tram line and close to the train (we had taken TGV from Paris) but not too close to train line so relatively quiet just a 10 minute walk to the promenade, some shops like H&M were along the way, close to convenient fast food chains and to a supermarket if needed, seemed to be a safe area day and night. A/C was perfect (we were advised by staff to keep the window doors of the room closed or it turns off), room had a safe but staff left it up to us to find the instructions and to figure out which set of instructions would work (ignore the ones on the back of the closet door), the woman at front desk seemed friendly although I think that I didn't understand her humor sometimes. Missing was guidance on where to go and what not to miss - a package of information including maps and day trips would have helped us a lot, but wifi was available and reliable.

Great little hotel

Great hotel, great location, excellent staff. Really pleased with the value for money of this hotel and the front desk staff could not be more friendly or helpful

holiday

We had a break at half term in Nice. It was great. Hotel was in good location and was really comfortable. The one thing I would suggest especially for UK and USA visitors in particular is that they provide full size mugs for tea/coffee facilities in bedrooms. The small disposable cups were too small and flimsy for hot drinks. Thanks.

Lovely hotel

Had a lovely stay. We had a duplex room which was a new experience. The room was spotless, had comfy beds. Faced onto a busy street but we heard very little noise. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location. Lots of shops and restaurants on the street. Tram line just outside the hotel. Train station only a few minutes walk.

Great Location to experience Nice.

This was our first visit to Nice, Wow was it good.The Hotel Alba is finely located, all the staff were courteous and friendly, our Room 408 was excellent, the wifi was hit and miss but we're on holiday so not a problem. As Arnie said, , we'll be back.
