We booked this stay in February for a king room. When we arrived, we were informed that there were no king rooms available. This was our first trip since my husband was diagnosed and started treatment for cancer, so this was a little disappointing. The television would only play the welcome to Marriott and no amount of pushing the buttons on the remote would make it do anything other than turn on, off and play the welcome to Marriott. On the positive side, the room was clean and comfortable. I only visited the Starbucks, so I cannot comment on the restaurant.

The Bonvoy in Richmond, Va was lovely. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was heaven. That jacuzzi tub was the icing on the cake. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay there anytime.

Disappointed and dissatisfied

During our recent stay at the Marriott, we experienced an incredibly dissatisfying and disappointing series of events. Despite arriving well after the official check-in time, our room was still not ready, forcing us to wait unnecessarily. When we expressed our frustration, the front desk clerk attempted to offer an alternate room, but it had smaller beds and did not meet our original reservation requirements. In an effort to make amends, Marriott provided a complimentary appetizer at the on-site restaurant, yet even that gesture fell flat when the restaurant staff failed to seat us despite the space being nearly empty. To top it off, once we finally got into our room, we discovered there was no remote control for the TV. The combination of these issues made for a thoroughly disappointing experience that fell far below Marriott’s usual standards.

I stayed at this hotel due to a conference that I was attending taking place there. Despite knowing that I was there for the conference all week, with me even having to come out of a workshop to take a call with management about the issue) they hemmed and hauled until changing the rate for the first two nights, but not the more expensive last couple of nights… So I was still grossley misled and overcharged..

While I was looking forward to the property being connected to the convention center, which is the destination of the event we are traveling for. The connection between hotel / parking garage and convention center was closed / blocked off. I wish I would have been informed of this so I would have canceled my reservation. The main reason for this hotel was to stay within the building between lodging and event. The check in process was frustrating and quite unfair. I will not be returning to this property.
