We got the "best room in the hotel" we were told as we checked on 15 November 2018! Actually, any room 10 on each floor has magnificent rooms I would say - Christ the Redeemer to the right, Sugar Loaf Mountain to the left, the sea in front as you gave out of the large, almost soundproof windows. The curtains were blackout with floor length nets. The bed was so comfortable I never moved as I slept the whole night through, a rarity! Most of the staff were so helpful, particularly Everton and Deborah on reception. I could not print out my online voucher for the Trem de Corcovado but Everton, busy as he was being the only person on the desk that evening, went out of his way to help me and printed off what I needed. The breakfast (included in the price) was superb, plenty of choice including cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads, cakes, cheeses, toast and preserves, and full English, and of course delicious fresh Brazilian coffee and fruit juices. We didn't need lunch, instead dined at the hotel restaurant twice; first night, being too tired to go elsewhere, at the rooftop bar which includes a small pool and half a dozen sunbeds - the views of both major attractions in Rio clearly seen and beautiful to behold as the sun sets, and once in the restaurant. A bit pricey for what you got I have to say and what we didn't know till Everton told us is that the restaurant is closed Saturday and Sunday evenings. So we walked 100 yards and enjoyed lovely meals at Zacks and La Mole.
