We were greeted with a warm welcome by the host/owner of this very old hotel. He was kind and helpful getting us set in our rooms offering a prosecco after our long drive. The hotel is quite old and has had some modest updates. It was comfortable enough but not a high rated quality in spite of the hotels.com rating that I used to book it. Sheets and towels were worn and torn. Very modest amenities. Cleanliness was questionable. In America it would have rated about a 2+ star hotel. It was sufficient enough for one night but very over priced for the value of the room/stay and experience.

This is an excellent location right in the middle where you have access to all the tours and shops. I would definitely stay here again. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Excellent breakfast!

We were very pleased with our stay - the Hotel was very rustic and in a great location. They arranged a private transfer for us from Nuremberg and again back to airport which was wonderful. We used the sauna which has great facilities and is kept private for individual use.

Wonderful service in a beautiful hotel

From the second we arrived you could tell that the owner of this hotel loves what he does. He offered us complimentary drinks, carried out cases to the room and parked our car. The minibar and coffee in the room was included, as was the delicious a la carte breakfast.

Genghis and the staff make this hotel special

From the moment we arrived Genghis who was front of house, waiter and valet was wonderful and friendly We upgraded to a suite and enjoyed the extra perks The hotel is right in the centre of Rothenburg am der Tauber so perfectly located We loved our 2 nights there and Genghis made this part of our road trip extra special

Staying at the Hotel Herrnschloesschen was one of the best experiences we had while traveling in Europe. The room was amazing. Quiet (overlooking the gardens) with an amazing staff. Welcome drinks upon arrival and an amzing breakfast the next day.
