Tolle Ausgangslage für eine River Boat Tour. Ungewöhnliches Ambiente. Wir würden wieder buchen.

Tolle Lage im Park

Die Lodge ist super gelegen, bei der einstündigen Bootstour konnten wir sehr viele Tiere sehen.

Für Fans der 1930er himmlisch

Pros: Traumhafte Umgebung, inmitten eines Naturparks, historisches Gebäude, gutes Restaurant
Location: Inmitten eines riesigen Naturparks, gleich nebenan starten Bootstouren mit Ranchern zum Tiere und Pflanzen bestaunen, Alligatoren und Manatees sehen
Übernachten in einer Lodge mit wackeligen, knarrenden Betten in riesigen Zimmern, historischem Fahrstuhl (Gänsehaut) mit sehr freundlichem Personal und einem Restaurantfrühstück inklusive, traumhafte Parkumgebung Eine Übernachtung ist ein MUSS! beim Besuch des Parks.

Man fühlt sich wie in einer anderen Zeit...

Also dieses Hotel ist wirklich sehr schwer zu bewerten. Wenn Sie ein Hotel nach modernen Standard suchen, übernachten Sie hier auf keinen Fall ! Wenn Sie sich jedoch darauf einlassen, die Zeit um mehr als 80 Jahre zurück zudrehen, erleben sie einen Aufenhalt der besonderen Art ! Der Portier fragt Sie am nächsten Tag nicht ohne Grund, ob Ihnen Geister begenet sind ! ;-) Als dieses Hotel im Jahre 1937 eröffnet wurde, war es sicherlich ein Haus der luxoriösen Kategorie. Sehr viel Marmor bestimmt das Bild. Eine beeindruckende Lobby und ein unendlich langer Bar-Tresen aus Marmor und Zimmer, die klassisch mit antiken Möbeln eingerichtet sind, versetzen Sie in eine andere Zeit. Statt eines Kleiderschranks gibt es ein grosses Ankleidezimmer und das Bad besticht durch sein altes, massives Waschbecken und den grossen Armaturen. Selbst die Spiegelablage ist noch aus alter Eiche. Lediglich die Toilette wurde gegen eine moderne ersetzt. Der Fahrstuhl ist ebenfalls noch original und für technikbegeisterte ein echtes Schmankerl. Durch seine lediglich halbautomatische Doppel-Tür an die man noch selbst Hand anlegen muss um Hinein und Heraus zukommenund und der klassischen Eiche Ausstattung der Fahrgastzelle, ist er eine echte Attraktion. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Frühstück im grossen Speidesaal ist gut. Das einzige Problem ist die sehr laute Zimmerbeheizung. Es gibt hier keine normalen Klimaanlage, sondern die Zimmer werden durch einen Umluftkanal beheizt. Dies funktioniert leider nicht sehr zufriedenstellend. Wir hatten rund 25 Grad C im Zimmer und das Strömungsgeräusch der Luft war sehr laut. Dies lies sich nicht regulieren. Lt. Aushang soll die Anlage aber in 2015 gegen eine moderne Klimaanlage ausgetauscht werden. Derzeit kann ich deshalb das Hotel nur für eine Nacht empfehlen. Die Atmosphäre war es auf jeden Fall wert und das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hier wird einem noch die Tür aufgehalten und man findet immer ein offenes Ohr. Meine dort vergessene Jacke wurde mir umgehend nach Hause geschickt, ein toller Service !
