The Carlton Beach hotel has a fabulous location. However, it is not a cheap hotel, although judging from their constant attempts to sell additional things at inflated prices, it clearly thinks it does not charge enough. Just one example, they charge 15 euros/day for bikes from a local bike hire store, whereas if you do it yourself, it is just 8.50. Breakfast is 20 euros/day, whereas you can get as good a breakfast for half the price from one of the many cafes on the beach a few yards away. We had a number of frustrations with the hotel. We reserved a room with a double bed, but were given a room with twins instead, and when we asked about this, there was no apology, just “well that sometimes happens” and a complete lack of concern. When we checked it, there was a group being seen, but only one person, leaving us waiting for more than a quarter of an hour, during which time the person in front of me gave up waiting. Even though a number of office staff passed by, none offered to help check in other guests. The attitude of the staff aside, the rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms have been modernised. It was nice to have a kettle and tea and coffee. The location is fabulous, just by the beach, just north of the pier.

We stayed in the room 517 and the air conditioning is not worked from day 1.Though I reported the issue to the staffs, the issue was not resolved till I checked out on Day 6.

Good location

We had a lovely size deluxe room but no sea view. It was very quiet. Bed was very soft and the room and bathroom were extremely dark. Reception staff and barman were really pleasant. Whole place could be a bit cleaner, needs more attention. Very close to the promenade and restaurants

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und in einem guten Zustand. Gut war auch dass der Fernseher drei deutschsprachige Sender hatte. Vorbildlich war die Sauberkeit des Bades und WCs

Das Zimmer war schön gross, vorallem weil wir zu dritt gebucht hatten. Ein normales Bett war das 3. Bett. Das war sehr gut. Die Better sehr bequem. Das Bad schön. Lage sehr gut. Einzig als ich anrief, dass wir erscht etwa um 22h einchecken würden, fand die Rezeptionist unsere Buchung nicht. Warum auch immer. Musste Bestätigung von Ebookers mailen und bekam nicht gleich Antwort, sondern musste nochmals anrufen
