The Sankara Resort was everything we were hoping and more! The staff are amazing and make it feel as you are coming back to your very own home everyday. Everyone is so polite and goes out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. The restaurant has excellent food and service as well. Four of us travelled together and ate many meals here and enjoyed them all. We stayed 13 nights in a one bedroom pool suite and it was perfect. It is an open air bathroom that a blind rolls down to close off at night so we would get geckos and frogs visiting at night but that is part of living in the jungle and only added to the experience. Coming back to your own private pool after walking around in the hot sun could not be beat. The room was always clean and restocked everyday unless you asked for them to not bother. The property itself is beautiful and well kept. They arranged trips and transportation for us and always had suggestions for different excursions. We had multiple massages and other services at the spa and all were incredible. It was a perfect central location for exploring different areas of the island, There are many other restaurants within walking distance of the property if you would like to change it up. There is construction going on next door but it was never later than 8 at night and did not bother us. After 9 pm all you could hear was frogs and the sounds of the jungle. We would highly recommend to anyone to stay here! We will definitely be back!

tropical oasis

We had the private villa with the private pool . It was treed all around ,like an oasis. It was a place you could just stay in the room and be happy . (we had the darma villa) . The room came with breakfast. We booked transport online from the airport before we arrived ($27 for an hour and half drive) . We also booked a tour online (which we liked ,it had a guide) , but a taxi to the monkey forest is cheap ( i was told $8 return) it's a great place to stay

The resort itself was beautiful. The food they served there was amazing as well. The employees were all kind and helpful and accommodating. We had a deluxe pool villa but did not feel maximum privacy due to where it was on the main walking path.

This Spa hotel is excellent. Sadly next door hotel is being rebuilt so weekday 9-5 is very noisy at front of hotel. The spa is excellent, the food is good and it is not the hotel’s fault about the neighbour hotel rebuild programme. I am lucky as I’m now in a villa away from the builders and no longer hear them. Be clear when you book if you plan to be in the hotel during weekday daytime you can deal with the noise.

We enjoyed our stay as much as possible at the Sankara Resort. The staff was amazing and attentive and so nice. Our room was very organized and clean as well as provided what we asked. The shuttle bus they have offered is limited to time constraints however very convenient to use rather than walking in the area. If they had more time slots/ flexible times for the shuttle, then it would have been more convenient. This place is a hidden gem as such places in Ubud.

An absolutely stunning property with even better staff service. Food was absolute perfection and looked like an art, every time. Ubud is full of really good restaurants but we always had at least 2 meals of the day at the hotel restaurant as it was the best. The staff went over and above to make it a pleasant stay for us.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights with some family. The hotel is slightly out of the main centre of Ubud, but the hotel provide a regular shuttle bus free of charge and taxis are very reasonably priced. We booked the ‘basic’ room which was great, plenty of room and very well equipped with everything you’d expect and more. The hotel is fairly small but has all the facilities you need, spa, pool, bar, restaurant etc. We had breakfast included which was very good, with plenty of choice from the menu. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and attentive. I’d certainly recommend this hotel.
