Wonderful staff and very nice lobby. Location in the heart of San Marco area with 5-10 walking distance from S.M. Square and Realto market. If you're getting there from the train station with luggage, be careful to take the waterway to San Marco station rather than Realto. The walk from Realto evolves several bridges and you'll have to carry the luggage a few times. The room we stayed in wasn't refurbished and you see the furniture wearing out. Air conditioner is turned on and off from the reception (yes you call them to switch on/off, you only control the temp). Luckily we didn't feel the need to use it as the weather was very moderate. Water pressure is funny as it fades in and out every 10 sec or so but you get hot and cold water.

It was located near the theater, walkable to all locations. Our room faced the garden. Rather small. There was no elevator to the second floor of the building where our room was. Not fun to walk the whole day in the city and then go through some weird passages to the room upstairs.

The staff were very pleasant and professional, and they were helpful when we asked questions about the area or needed assistance. And the property itself was well kept and pleasant. However, the room was really small and there was no shower, only a tub with a handheld spray attachment. But there was no shower curtain/glass, so using the sprayer was awkward, trying not to get water on the floor. Just not a good experience with that, but there were no problems with anything else and, again, the staff were great.

You can walk to St.Mark's Basilica Square and the adjacent DOGE palace. It is a bit of walk to from where you land from public water taxi point. This hotel requires you to deposit keys to your room everytime you step out. Know the high city tax for this grade of hotel- it is around USD $12/per person/per room/per day that is not clearly disclosed while shopping or booking.

Conveniently located, but slightly dated.

Had a lovely stay at the Duodo Palace Hotel for our anniversary. The hotel is conveniently located for easy access to most of the city. My wife and I enjoyed the secluded location, tucked away on a dead end street. The staff, on the whole, was helpful and friendly. (Just one, slightly gruff, waiter at breakfast. I think he may have been a trainee.) Breakfast was nice and a real plus when wanting to get out into the city streets and not having to worry about finding a place open at an early hour. The food was decent but nothing overly special. The rooms were clean with plenty of space. The beds, on the other hand, were very uncomfortable. There was no enclosure on the bathtub so taking a shower is a messy proposition, but in keeping with many bathrooms throughout Europe. The hairdryer was very dated, but still served it's purpose. Overall, the stay was lovely. I'm only sharing these few issues so others can adjust their expectations.

Duodo Palace Hotel is a fine hotel in a nice location of Venice. Staff was welcoming and room was comfortable with a wonderful view of St Marks Campanile and San Giorgio Campanile. Bathroom was adequate w/ a shower tub combo that worked great. Breakfast was fantastic here too. Staff was attentive and made to order cafe drinks very well. I would stay here again and highly recommend you do too.

If coming to this hotel, the staff service is exceptional but……… there is a sewer scent when you enter the hotel (not constant but occurs enough). DO NOT book room 607 if you are scared of ghost. We were unable to sleep the entire stay due to activities in the room. The staff never stepped foot inside the room as well. The jacuzzi is inoperable and there’s no standing shower head connections. Iron your clothes in advance as ironing is illegal on the island. The hotel provides this service for a FEE ($7 a shirt). Lastly don’t bother contacting the hotel in advance via email as your message will go unaddressed. You are REQUIRED to leave your room key each and every time you leave the hotel!!!!! Other than the above….Perfect location to reach all tourist destination

Great location,staff and room.

The room was spacious and clean. The front facade of the home is being worked on so it is covered in scaffolding and a protective sheathing. This meant that was all we saw out of our window. It was also noisy due to being on the street side and opposite a restaurant. However, overall we would recommend the hotel. Tea, coffee and small pastries and cookies were available at all hours. Very nice touch. The staff were great.

Pleasant hotel centrally placed to have easy access to the sites Reception staff generally pleasant and helpful Room slightly dated. We unable to control room temp. Ended up opening a window. Bitten through the night. Bed was hard but clean. Shower was excellent. Bar staff could try and smile. Generally a pleasant stay would recommend for the price and location

Lovely character of rooms albeit a little cosy. It was a little noisy, creaky stairs at night. Staff were excellent, very helpful. Shame there is not a proper hotel bar for coffee, end of evening. However the location is SUPERB and is worth it. . Excellent location close to St Marks and very central. Would defo stay here again.
