Stylish, clean, and ideal location

This hotel had a lot to offer. The location is incredible as I was able to walk to all of my destinations and found endless food and coffee options along the way. The staff are wonderful — you do complete check-in via a kiosk but the staff assisted me and were very attentive throughout my stay. The room was on the smaller side, but that was not surprising for being in the heart of DC. More importantly, the bed was comfortable, the room decor was stylish, and the entire space was clean. The bathroom felt a touch dated, but again, clean and functional. If you want housekeeping during your stay, be certain to review the card on your nightstand as they have a slightly different approach than most hotels. You can definitely hear your neighbors from time to time and you should anticipate the normal city noises coming from outside, but it did not disturb my stay. Each floor has a refillable water station, complete with empty plastic water bottles which was a nice touch. The 2nd floor also provides a lounge area with coffee and other amenities. This is also one of the only hotels I’ve stayed at in the past several years with check-in at 3pm and check-out at noon. It was definitely an unexpected perk.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Had a hard time getting the shower at a good temperature. The heat never warmed the room enough even if I turned it up. You should us that room for a storage room. The view was depressing. 4 brick walls. The room was smaller than a walk in closet.

Very nice hotel. The rooms everyday were very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. One negative was the soundproofing of the rooms. You could often hear your neighbours quite loudly, but it's an old building and it wasn't a big issue with our stay. Would highly recommend, great location right next to the White House

This was my second time staying here, last time was a few years ago. It seemed to have a much more rowdy clientele this time. There were people not staying at the hotel who were allowed to stay past midnight running through the hotel as part of a bachelorette party. Even at 2am people were screeching and stomping and slamming doors. We felt a large party should have been accommodated with rooms next to each other to avoid this or given rooms closer to the elevators so they wouldn’t be waking us all. Management was nice and location is good, but I’d hesitate before staying again.

I loved the location—around the corner from the Metro stop and buses, and within walking distance of good restaurants, the Washington Monument, and several Smithsonian museums. The hotel hospitality and housekeeping staff were excellent, and The front desk person was always friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Great deal in the heart of DC

This is my go-to hotel in DC. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat.
