Friendly staff and good value weekend. Dog friendly with lots of green space and a lounge area where they are welcome. Our room was comfortable with excellent beds and linens and the whole hotel was spotless. The let downs were breakfast was very cafe style basic (and for £13... unreasonable). There were long queues to get tables for meals especially breakfast and it seemed fairly understaffed (though they were all doing their best to keep up!)

Very tired and dated hotel that needs some investment. Gym is extremely small and was double booked. Restaurant food was ok but the drinks service was very slow. We asked the manager 3 times for our drinks order that took 45 minutes, by which time we had finished our main courses. Strange delay considering the hotel was very quiet. I had booked 7 rooms for a business trip and will look at other alternatives in the future.

Nice building in a nice location but requires major refurbishment to rooms and corridor areas.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review of Hilton Avisford Park. We were glad your stay was satisfactory. We have, however, noted your feedback regarding the overall standard of accommodation. As part of our on-going programme of maintenance, we are currently focussing on a soft refurbishment of some of our bedrooms and a refresh of our public areas. Thank you once again for your feedback. Kind regards Richard Hopton General Manager Hilton Avisford Park

quiet location with comfortable beds

Pros: comfy beds
Cons: closing the fire doors on the landing to reduce noise
Location: Close to Arunel but you need a car/cab to go anywhere
Very polite and efficient receptionist which was good but no lift or offer to take the bags upstairs. Suite was large but it was too noisy to sit in the sitting room in the day as there were lots of people walking past and there were conference/meeting delegates talking loudly from about 8am. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Bathroom was fine but chipped enamel on the bath. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Swimming pool is very small ( I'm guessing less than 10m x 15 m)and made smaller by a swimming teacher giving private lessons in it to children. Gym also small.

The most wonderful staff anywhere...it makes all the difference.

I stayed recently with my 7-year old daughter and the staff should be highly commended on their kindness, helpfulness, professionalism and personalism. I am gushing about all the staff, not just one or two, but I must single out Joanne in hospitality and the ladies on Reception = so warm and nothing was too much trouble. My daughter asked if we could stay on for an extra night.... that's how at home she felt. If only other hotels could follow this example. I promise I am a genuine guest, I stayed 3 nights in late July and I have no vested interest in the hotel or its staff. Miranda, Geneva.
