Great airport hotel

I booked the Clayton as a treat as I had an early flight. It’s really handy for the airport - there’s a shuttle bus that can take you to / pick you up from all three terminals as well as the train station. Easy to book. Apparently T1 is only five minutes walk but as I had to get to the airport at 5am, it felt safer to get the bus. The room was clean, if a little tired in places. Nice shower. The bed was really comfortable and had a good nights sleep. The restaurant was busy but service was still quick and really friendly. There’s also a little self service shop in the reception area for drinks/snacks for your room. Overall a great stay and recommend for easy access to the airport.

Clayton stay May 2025

We arrived late at night and was picked up promtly by the shuttle service from terminal 2 after contacting reception to pick us up. Reception had our room keys ready for us on our Arrival at the hotel. The room was a Double twin room it was comfortable clean and tidy We had pre ordered breakfast which was very good with plenty of choice. We were also given a discretionary extra hour on our check out time for free due to our late arrival. We also paid 20 pounds for two extra hours so we could have our room till 14.00 hours To save hanging around the airport for hours .

First time at the Clayton

Bus transfer to and from T3 excellent. Room comfortable clean and well maintained. It was our first visit to Clayton Hotel so the waiter service at the bar was strange at first but the service was excellent for both drinks and food. Special mention for a Polish Peter and the restaurant manager.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and the room was very comfortable and plenty of space. Our second night, not such a good room, but it was free on the airline due to 24 hour delay, so can’t really expect as nice a room as one we have paid for. We would definitely use this hotel again when flying from Manchester airport. Shuttle drivers were pleasant and helpful too.

Disapointed with evening meal menu, very little for my partner gluten free, although she enjoyed the, l selected cod and chips with mushy peas,got frozen cod in batter like card board a nd a thimble of mushy peas.

The bathroom in room 482 had mold around the bathtub. Not what I expected in this class of hotel. Perhaps it was just a bad day because otherwise the hotel was excellent and convenient location. Thank you for finally fixing the phones at the train station needed to call for pick up.
