A very dated property, cleanliness & DIY jobs not up to task. Food was decidedly average, not sure why such high reviews, especially for the cost. Only positive is that it's a good location for tourist attractions.

Purdy Lodge is straight off the A1 and as such very accessible and easy to find. Staff are so very friendly and helpful. Despite being near to the A1 our room was extremely quiet with a great view across the fields where Bamburgh Castle could be seen in the distance. Food. was excellent. We ate at the Lodge restaurant and at the adjacent 24/7 cafe and the meals were faultless - good, tasty well cooked home cooking style (and large quantities). Excellent value too. We talked to several other guests who stayed at the Lodge regularly and intend to stay there again ourselves on future visits to the area.

Good reasonably priced hotel for overnight stay.

Stayed overnight - no frills but clean and comfortable- lovely breakfast cooked to order- nothing too much trouble. Will definitely book again.
