Our family room was very pleasant with fluffy white towels, bright white bedding,& plenty of tea & coffee which was a real bonus! It was clean & airy & my four poster bed was super comfy 😊. It was though very noisy in the evenings from the lively pub downstairs & loud traffic outside. It also lacked small tweaks such as anywhere to hang towels or clothes when in the bathroom & a lead long enough to boil the kettle anywhere other than on the floor!.... Saying that , we managed very well & the staff were all delightful. Food was great too with delicious breakfast & enjoyable evening meals. Finally, stairs to rooms were very steep & my elderly companion really did struggle & had to crawl up! Again we managed, with patience & care. We would go again!

Loose electric wires in the room as well as huge chunks of the walls missing, uncomfortable bed, bathroom window didn't lock or close so cold air in room, no heating except an old electric convector, bathroom was gross with mould everywhere and a totally rubbish shower. Couldn't open the window blind in the room which was Brocken also as the beer garden was right outside so everyone could see in the room. People from the pub came inside and out the door all the time to smoke and the room is literally next to the door so all you can hear is drunk people and the smell of smoke found its way into the room till the early hrs. Breakfast was also free and there was good reason for that as it was rank and made with the cheapest products.Totally not happy and will never return there. I have made photos also for reference.

Location perfect for our needs

Pros: The location and car park.
Cons: There were only 2 plug sockets and not near the kettle! So, awkward to say the least! The bacon and sausage at breakfast were very dry, been kept warm
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was dated but clean. Separate entrance so didn't have to walk through the bar each time.

Good Hotel where facilities all work!!

I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent value given here. Showers always hot, any time of day. Quality linen, clean rooms, superb breakfast, all within a short bus ride to lively Brighton. I will be returning.
