My wife and I stayed at the Thon Hotel in Brussels while attending a wedding, and unfortunately, we left feeling more exhausted than when we arrived, due to persistent disturbances from housekeeping. Despite placing a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door each morning, housekeeping knocked repeatedly and even called our room phone to ask if we wanted cleaning service. Then proceeded to bang their vacuum against our door. This happened every day of our stay, making it impossible for us to sleep in and rest up for the evening events we were attending. On the fifth day, we stepped out of our room and politely asked housekeeping in the hallway for two fresh towels. The response was unexpectedly rude, we were told “no” because a €5 bar voucher had already been placed under our door. We explained that we didn’t want or use the vouchers, and after not taking no for an answer (we needed new towels), a second staff member reluctantly handed over towels. This was not the level of hospitality we expected. We’ve stayed in many hotels and have never had to complain about service before, but this experience left us disappointed. Based on this, we don’t plan to return to the Thon Hotel. Our room’s bathroom’s glass door was also broken and didn’t close. Room 32.

My wife and I stayed at the Thon Hotel for a week and felt exhausted every morning. We have never had to leave a hotel with a complaint before. House keeping was ridiculous. We left the “Do Not Disturb” card on the door and they proceed to wake us up every morning by either knocking, and/or calling us on the phone to ask if we needed our room clean. We were here for a wedding and had late nights, to where we needed to sleep in for the next evening of events. We could never sleep in all because of housekeeping. Upon that, housekeeping would consistently bang their vacuums against our door, as well. Lastly, about 5 mornings in, we had opened our door to housekeeping in the hallway. We asked if we could get new towels and the first woman just flat out told us “No” because they had already slipped some €5 voucher for their bar, under our door. We told them we didn’t want the vouchers (never used them) and the second housekeeping person in the hall reluctantly gave us new towels. There are more stories of annoyance from Housekeeping, but these are the major events that left us unhappy. We are not fans of this hotel and won’t be returning.

Family visit to Brussels.

Good: Lovely rooms, we were even upgraded, and one had a sauna! Attentive staff both at reception and also in the bar and restaurant. Car parking nice and easy which was a concern for me beforehand. The not so good: The room booked for 3 people did not have the sofa bed already made up, nor linen for me to do it myself. The shower tray/screen leaked badly and flooded the bathroom floor just inside the door, which was tiled. Hazardous.

Comfortable stay

We love this hotel. We came here for family trip and stayed with room for 4. Very spacious room with sauna which I recommend. Also, its location is convenient with many prime shops nearby. It also has a car park (though it is a bit narrow if you drive a big car). Highly recommend for family!
