Lack of vegetarian anx gluten free options for food. Breakfast and lunch options are pretty limited. The property is extremely small overall.

The hotel has good customer service, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. However, they should improve the quality of the food and upgrade the pool bar. The rooms with a lagoon view are beautiful—spacious, relaxing, and definitely worth it. Keep in mind that there are quite a few stairs throughout the property. Breakfast is varied and offers a good selection. That said, I do find the overall price a bit high compared to other hotels that may offer more amenities.

It was a smaller sized property but I knew that before I went. The food was ok - the Japanese restaurant was my favorite. The entertainment was ok, seemed like a weekday was more exciting than a weekend entertainment for a weekend. For the price of the trip, I was happy with it.

The staff at NYX were so amazing. My wife has some mobility problems and I’ve never seen such compassion and accommodation from complete strangers. We can’t thank them enough for their help and effort.

I guess how the building was structured, but there was a lot of steps, especially when the elevators stopped working for one night and day, which I’m sure it was out of your control.. other than that it was a nice place and the people were very nice

Just came back from a 4 day stay and was a little disappointed in several things. Good: 1. Beach is beautiful 2. Staff and service on beach is wonderful 3. Renting private beds and chairs on the beach was very cheap 40.00 a day. 4. Rooms are beautiful and large (ocean view) Bad: 1. Drinks are VERY watered down or cheap 2. The lobby bar isn’t open until 6pm and wasn’t open every night. 3. Limited food options. Very small buffets and could not get reservations to the specialty restaurants. 4. Staff at front desk wasn’t very friendly. 5. There is a dress code for men at all restaurants, even the buffet. 6. We are on the fifth floor and the elevator broke down for 24 hours.. I heard it’s an often thing here. No other option but to walk up 5 flights of stairs. 7. Not really any good night entertainment. 8. Lunch food was good and free but dinner buffet was terrible. We ate out two nights in town. 9. Our friends had the biggest room at the resort and the A/C only works if you are in the room and they did t have hot water. They did get moved to another room after creating a major scene. 9. Pool was hot and always loud music. Also very small 10. I do not recommend this place if you do not like to walk upstairs. Every building is separate and their stairs no matter where you go.Lots of them. even the entrance to get into the place has a ton of stairs. There are much better options in Cancun that the NYX. We frequent Cancun and I would not recommend this resort.

Overall, I would not recommend this place. Spend your money somewhere else. I’m only giving this 2 stars because of the friendly entertainment staff and waiters. They were great people and made the experience somewhat tolerable. The entertainment crew were super chill, fun, and easy going. I would recommend them for any other hotel to hire them. The hotel is not the greatest. We were initially given a room that was extremely humid and full of mold everywhere. I’m allergic to mold and was forced to stay one night in the room because they did not have another room available. If I get sick from the stay, the hotel will be hearing from me again. The second night we were moved to a better room. The original room was also not ocean view which is what I paid for to begin with. The food at the upscale restaurants Chianti and Umami are not the greatest. Chianti is sexist towards men. They allow women to wear cheap plastic sandals and men who wear designer dressy sandals are sent back to change their better looking dressy sandals to closed toe shoes. Food at Chianti was horrible. Let’s put it this way, Olive Garden is way better than this “upscale” place. Umami is another story. The restaurant undercooks the meat, vegetables are undercooked with no flavor. The staff was nice though. The Deck restaurant, the food is always cold and they don’t let you in with swimming trunks you have to go back to your room to change.

Checked in on 4/20/2025 for the entire week of my birthday, so dissapointing in the common areas. The picture gallery is very deceiving vs in person, the pictures make the hotel and the areas look very spacious. Pool is very small and the beach area in front of the hotel feels very tight and mashed together. Everyday my food arrived cold at dinner or wasn't cooked up to par. When I told the server how I wanted my meal to be cooked she came back and the chef said no, that it wasn't going to be heated up. The front desk team members were so uncooperative, when I would express my concerns they just brushed it off. They tried convincing us to do this seminar about their properties (time share kinda thing) for a free room upgrade and free beach cabana but were requiring we show them our credit cards and its details so we declined. You are not allowed to go have lunch at the deck if your damp or wet (mind you the deck is next to the pool and on the beach). I went to have lunch, was turned away because i looked wet, had my spouse go with me again 1min later(he was dry) and they let both of us in WTH?!?!
