The staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel rooms and corridors could do with a refresh. The location is great for Bridgend and the surrounding areas. We didn’t try the gym, but the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were excellent.

It was closw to tesco and some fast food restaurants. Thats about the only good thing. The room was full of stains and cobwebs. The shower was extremely uninviting. Wifi was dodgy at best. Single pane of glass between us and a busy road so it was also noisey, and we could easily hear the guests in the next room. Breakfast was extra and we didn't want to pay it, so we bought from tesco instead. Beds flimsy, i now have a bad back from the springs. No idea how this hotel has three stars.

Disappointing for a Best Western Hotel

Pros: Rooms were quiet apart from hearing all too clearly neighbouring activity!

Location: Location fairly good and quiet. We were travelling around - Bridgend is not the hub of south Wales though.

A number of glitches which shouldn't be in a hotel chain with a good reputation: radiator in my room stopped working and I had to have a convector heater, which was not ideal. Room accessories (bedside lamps/curtains/lighting) varied - a friend had a superior room to mine although we paid the same for a standard room. Taps in the bathroom need to readujsting as very stiff. Kettle lid wouldn't open and wouldn't turn off - even though it had a checked electrical sticker - and so not safe and hospitality tray perched precariously on a tiny wooden shelf. Jacuzzi too small for the number of guests staying at the hotel. On a positive note, the bar menu was good value for money and we had no complaints with the food. However, we didn't have breakfast as that was an additional cost. Also, even though hotel guests, we were asked to pay for robes/slippers for the spa area! These should be complimentary for guests. We went without. In short, the hotel felt slightly shabby even though general cleanliness with room service was good. My friend's carpet had blood stains which is unacceptable.

PLEASANT HOTEL

Overnight Stay

Hotel location and amenities were fine, however the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. One of the worst night sleeps I have had at a hotel as the beds are usually great. The room had no air conditioning so was very warm however the hotel did provide a fan upon request.
