All in all, it was just an average stay on a business trip. Upon check in I was asked if I would like to add breakfast on my booking which I didnt at the time but wasnt told what time breakfast was. I decided to go for breakfast the following morning but took a guess on the time as no information in the room as the times for breakfast or dinner. In fact no information booklet at all in the room There were on the bed when I arrived in the room the cards you hook on the door which you use for do not distrurb which is what I thought they were so put them on the side and left them there. When I got back to my room after being at work all day, my room had not been serviced and a card pushed through my door to say Id said for my room not to be serviced by house keeping. What the cards are for are to inform housekeeping that you either did or did not want housekeeping to service your room. if you were supposed to do this you should be informed at check in or information in the room to tell you to do this. Never in all the years of staying in a hotel and this is supposed to be a 4 star do you have to let housekeeping know to clean your room or not surely in this day and age it should be an automatic thing, you even get this done in a premier inn, due to my room not being serviced I had to go all the way back down to reception to get some teabags as I didn't have any left. Just a little more information to guests is what is required upon check in

Hi it was not made clear where to walk the dogs the entry point.I never knew there was £20 each dog per night to stay.The beds super comfy Breakfast lovely Bedroom freezing so spent 40 pound on blankets as i had my 85 year old mum with me The most disappointing for me leisure club swimming pool was completely shut for a long while apparently Wanting to relax at night in our room There was no room service However it was advertised as available so was the leisure club These things did ruin our stay I would return but the things promised would have to be available I would like a refund Thankyou

Last minute booking and was very lucky to have a lakeside view double room which I must say the view. Checked in and was welcomed by two lovely young ladies on the desk who were amazing! Rooms are lovely, smart tv’s and perfect space. We were having issues with the TV and WiFi connection, immediately sorted by the manager who kindly changed our room to solve this issue. So grateful and was an amazing stay! We will definitely be back, so relaxing and a lovely walk around the lake. Online pictures / bookings sites do not do this place justice it’s definitely worth the money and a beautiful hotel! Thank you again!!

The reception staff were outstanding. They went to great lengths to ensure our rooms were close to each other. All the staff were really kind and friendly and took great care of us. The hotel is looking good! Breakfast was fresh and delicious with loads of choices. We will definitely stay again! Thank you all v much.

Had a lovely stay at Copthorne. Room was clean , quiet area , like the view of the lake from our room , staff was very friendly and helpful, enjoyed breakfast and had a great sleep. The hotel is near restaurants and shopping places and a short walk to the bus stop. Only downside is that the bathroom needs updating . But overall, had a great stay at this hotel.

Hotel is recovering from not having guests for a long time. Staff are excellent, and the visible parts are kept clean. However a lot of money needs to be spent by the owners to upgrade the rooms, plumbing, electrics etc. The leisure facilities and meeting areas need to be redone completely. This is not a case of painting and cleaning. Please Compton’s management spend the money.
