I stayed at Hilton Cardiff with my family to celebrate a special occasion, but unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming.
We booked what was described as a double family room, but it was just a standard room with two double beds. There was nothing particularly spacious or family-focused about it. At £265 per night, I expected a much higher standard. The hotel felt tired and clearly in need of investment, especially considering the reputation usually associated with Hilton.
The spa was a major letdown. The steam room was out of order during our stay, which we weren’t informed about in advance. The overall facilities felt more like a local leisure centre than a four-star hotel. The changing rooms were small and dated, a tap was broken, the toilets were not clean, and basic toiletries like body wash and lotion were missing. I was told they were waiting on a delivery. I even had to leave the spa to go to the gym reception to ask for basic items. There was a clear lack of attention to detail.
I chose Hilton expecting a certain level of comfort and quality, but this hotel did not deliver. What was meant to be a treat for my family ended up being a disappointment. For the price we paid, it simply wasn’t worth it. Expedia you described as luxury, you should check in future
