Outdated, I got bed bug bites (but don’t have anything to prove it necessarily), amenities weren’t the best. I wouldn’t stay here ever again even if it’s the cheapest hotel downtown Chicago. Not worth it for me.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room had a terrible view, which was nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Even worse, the room was extremely dark, with almost no natural light and inadequate artificial lighting. It made the space feel gloomy and uncomfortable, especially in the evenings. For the price I paid, I expected a much better experience. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

Was NOT informed that one had to request maid service. Afterc2 days of no toilet paper, soap or coffee, which I didn’t understand is NOT separate from housekeeping… staff at desk were generally defensive about it. No eye contact, haughty, claiming “all the big hotels are doing this now…” uh, no they aren’t. Wiring in room had been redone so it was impossible to turn light off without disconnecting usb/outlets for charging. Engineer was unaware of the problem.

Average hotel. Owned by Best Western would have definitely chosen a different place if I knew that before. Breakfast is not good. In a safe area but 20-minute walk from downtown so a little far out. Service was okay nothing to rave about. Its ok honestly had no issues and wouldnt come back though.

Great stay for 1st time visit to Chicago!

I had a great experience at the WhiteHall. Even though it is not a modern hotel the stay went well! It was my first time visiting Chicago and the location was perfect! Everything was walking distance from the mall to the beach to great restaurants! The breakfast they served was really good too! The only down side was the lighting in the rooms other than that I would stay here again!

Charming and quite comfortable

Charming room with classic decor and a nice view from the 21st floor. The bed was the most comfortable I may have ever slept on at a hotel. The bathroom was fairly large and very clean (but could probably do with updated fixtures in the shower-tub). Lobby staff were also quite pleasant and the mobile check-in & check-out was very convenient too. Overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely consider staying here again in the near future.

The room was spacious and the checkin was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping. I would recommend that they install a full length mirror. It would be nice to see one’s total outfit when dressing up to go out on the town.

I had a wonderful stay at The Whitehall Hotel! The staff was absolutely amazing — so kind, helpful, and attentive to all my needs. Their warm hospitality truly made my visit special. The hotel itself has a charming Chicago vintage vibe that adds so much character. It felt quiet and safe, which was perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the city. Plus, the bed was incredibly comfortable — I slept like a dream! My only concerns were that my room didn’t have a mini fridge, despite the website mentioning one, which made it difficult to save leftovers. Additionally, one of the light fixtures in my room wasn’t working. Overall, I’d still recommend The Whitehall Hotel for its charm, comfort, and exceptional staff. Just double-check your room amenities if a fridge is important to you!
