Okay

Plenty of parking and a smooth check in but very little information is given. Stayed for one night to celebrate anniversary. The room was similar to a travelodge room but had everything you needed. No air conditioning so the room was like a sauna and uncomfortable so we had very little sleep. The spa was okay, the hot tubs were closed for cleaning but even when open were grubby. The jacuzzi wasn't working properly, sauna was great, steam room had tissue over the sensory so we took it off the first day and it was still in there the next so it had not been cleaned. Breakfast was a good selection but had clearly been sat out for a while and was dry. The bar wasn't particularly welcoming and was dark and dingy. It wasn't quite the relaxing break we had wanted.

Quieter at the rear of the hotel

The reception manager Leo assisted in allocating a room to the rear/side of the hotel which made a huge difference to my stay, as I managed to sleep with no road noise from the front of the hotel, many thanks!

We recently stayed at the Hogs Back hotel and spa for two nights. And were extremely impressed with the customer service. It is very rare to find a hotel where across the board the staff are helpful and polite and greet to you with a smile when we visited the health club we were offered a tour of the facilities and the procedure for borrowing towels, robes and padlocks was clearly explained to us by a girl called Katie without us even having to ask. she was excellent! Equally, we had a problem with our television in the room and this was quickly rectified by Leo on reception who could not have been more accommodating. The restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. One member of staff who stood out here was a girl called Izzy who again was exceptional. Well done, hogs back, you either have very good customer service training or are very particular in your recruitment process.

Great hotel, great facilities considering the price. Great service from the staff. Lovely comfortable stay in a good sized room. The hotel is next to a busy road so I would probably recommend to ask for a room at the back of the hotel to minimise thevtraffic noise. My only disappointment was that (in pur room, for this stay) all the power sockets are located at the opposite end of the room to the headboard of the bed. So we could nog charge our phones and have them in easy reach, and the fan that was provided too far away to be very helpful

The property needs an overhall! Its looking tired in rooms and the pool areas. We were given a room that had a small window to open, but sadly a very loud piece of machinery was going 24-7 right outside. The main thing that we were told when we asked for clean towels on our 3rd day of a 4 day stay, we only change them when you leave! God help us if we had been staying a week! Its was 34° outside and we had been having 2-3 showers a day. We had used the spa also but you cant beat a cool shower before bed. But sadly not with clean towels. It actually shocked us to say how it had come across when booking it. But hey ho. Not for us.

I have no photos sure room in same condition.

On arrival, the receptionist was not very polite or helpful. She was very brusque and answered our questions before we had even finished. She asked us to register our car which we did but have received a parking fine, which we do not intend to pay. Please have this removed and inform us in writing once actioned.Details Car Reg GL54 FCA CLK 240 Avant. Ticket issued 08/08/2025. PCN12590379687 Date 03/03/2025 16.56 48 - this is the time we actually arrived at the Hotel and were registering. We were having problems with the receptionist because as a disable person i person have problems climbing stairs and she said that there were no room downstairs because there was a party going on that night. In the morning at breakfast I asked if a party had taken place and was told no. My blue badge was clearly displayed in the car. RoomThe sink had a leaking tap which has caused unsightly rust, all the soap were empty or nearly empty. There is a big stain on mattress bottom left side. We left the room on the Monday to use the Spa when I got back to the room about 3 pm the room had not been cleaned and I had to ask a maid to make up the bed and she did while I was in the room, the bathroom was not touched and dirty glasses and tea cups were just left, bins were not emptied. I was not going to leave a review but feel that your service was very poor I look forward to a speedy response especially regarding the. Parking ticket.
