Could be a lot better

Pros: The location is ideal and the staff are helpful.
Cons: The rooms are looking a little tired. Doesn't represent good value for money. Arrange transport outside the hotel - it'll be much cheaper & reliable.
Location: It's located very near Little India, the backpackers area and Fort Cornwallis.
Staff at the hotel are lovely and very helpful; the cook/handyman went out of his way to make sure I was happy and the cleaner does her job very well. Inside the room, the was a thick layer of dust/cobwebs on the 2 large ceiling lights and where the ceiling meets the wall, which is not nice to look at when you're lying on the bed! (not the cleaner's fault, as the ceilings are very high and hard to reach - however, they should be cleaned at least once or twice a year). The other thing that was quite disappointing was the large amount of mould around the shower tray. It's a small hotel and it's not really a huge expense to replace the silicone. There were also long cracks in wall that needed to be filled and painted over. I was offered a free upgrade to my room, as only 2 rooms were occupied at the hotel (including mine), during my stay. But I declined the offer because the other room was very hot and stuffy. It's not only the room that required attention. In the downstairs lounge area, there was a large amount of water leaking from the glass ceiling. For the amount of money charged for the room, I would expect better.
