Smelly carpets. Good location.

Our main issue with this hotel is the smell. The lobby smells musty as well as the halls. Our first room was dusty and had such strong smell I had to take an allergy medication and still was so stuffed up we requested an early check out. The front desk gave us a room with less carpet by the pool. The thing is, all the carpets in this hotel are pasty, stained, old and dusty. All the smells were very strong. It didn’t feel healthy. The rooms are individually decorated. Both of our rooms were dark and very dated. We have stayed at artsy hotels in many different cities and have loved it but this is a different vibe, very old, dark and dated. The pool area is nice. This hotel needs some new floors, ceiling tiles, updated bathrooms and to address the moldy smell. Our rate was almost $400 a night. We expect better at this price point.

Great location for visiting the museums. Loved being able to walk to the park. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was wonderful. Every staff member we encountered were friendly, helpful and prompt.

Staff were excellent. Suite was older and due for upgrade. Rooms with two beds are doubles and not queens. No good options for self parking, overnight valet is $59 per night. Hotel offers a complimentary shuttle for pick up and drop off within 3 miles which was helpful. Location is excellent.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are spacious and modern, with enough amenities to make life pleasant. Service is top-notch and friendly. Restaurant is decent enough. The surrounding area is amazing - museums, parks, Rice University, etc. If we ever return to Houston, we'll stay there again.
