Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Lovely rooms, especially the very comfortable armchairs.
Hotel lovely, bar service needs improvement both evenings we had to wait ages for service then he would disappear again no atmosphere either and very expensive, then we were charged a fee for bringing our drinks to our table on top of service which we didn’t see at check out!
All other aspects of the hotel were good although very creaky floorboards but that cannot be helped in such an old building
Staff were very friendly
Doreen at breakfast was very friendly and kept everything ship shape
We upgraded to a premium room which was worth it with beautiful views and a very large room, mattress needs updating as dipped in the middle
Overall a lovely stay
Very comfortable room & bed.
Superb meals in the elegant Carrier drawing room.
Slight downside in that we were kept waiting to sign in. Disappointing that mostly the flowers on display were artificial, despite having a cut-flower garden outside.
We had a lovely 2 day stay. Greeted by the delightful Megan on reception who looked after us beautifully. Our room was very nice and comfortable. Our two breakfasts in the glorious dinning hall were exceptional and both Doreen and Sorrel went above and beyond to make it such a special experience. Excellent service and friendliness. Our stay ended with another lovely lady on reception who helped us with our luggage to our car and waved us off. We had a great stay and can highly recommend anyone who wants a lovely tranquil stay and to be thoroughly spoilt in beautiful surroundings to stay at Hintlesham Hall.
I have rated Hintlesham 4 stars as the Hotel itself is stunning and the staff were very friendly and helpful but in my opinion the food really lets the place down. The restaurant itself is lovely, set in a beautiful room within the Hall and the menu read well but was hugely over priced and of a poor standard breakfast was a bit better but my eggs were cold which wasn’t great. So if I was rating the hotel and staff I would give 5 star rating but I would give the food a generous 2!
Past it sell by date and in need of real attention. Plus poor bar service due to lack of staff. Frankly over priced which is such a pity. Tissue box by bed contained one folded tissue yes just the one!
Our room and the hotel were very good and comfortable.
The food menus and descriptions were excellent but the food was very poor and didn’t come up to expectations from the menu, or the price- very disappointing.
An amazing old building, very British hotel, with very friendly staff, if I'm honest, it was all a bit stuffy for me, but if you like that kind of thing, you will like it!
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, situated in a remarkably quiet area, just a 30-minute drive from the historic town of Melford.
Our Large Principal Double, featuring exposed old beams and a dome-like ceiling, was tastefully decorated and had a generous, very comfortable bed. The service was both professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and beautifully presented dinner and breakfast.
