Don‘t book room 314. It looks out onto the kitchen or laundry in the back with just a sliver of the mountain above the roof as a „view.“. The real problem is the noise. A compressor goes off intermittently all day and into the night and early morning. Super annoying. In addition, at 6:30 am the work evidently starts because there is a loud racket outside the window as carts are shoved about. There are nice solo rooms in the front, so beware if they assign you 314.

FabulousHotel

We have been staying in hotels around Derwentwater for in excess of 20 years. The Glaramara experience tops the lot! We will not be looking for an alternative hotel in future. The accommodation was spacious and well laid out. Much thought has gone into furnishing and decoration of the hotel interior. Everywhere was bright and spotlessly clean. But above all was the standard of service and friendliness of the staff. A fabulous hotel.
