I was very disappointed with Expedia and how they handled my trip and I was not able to get to my destination and will not refund anything of my costs, although on their website states that only the first day will be charged. My vacation was ruined, my money is gone and my time. Thanks for nothing!! Never again will I make this mistake, I don’t feel like a customer, I feel like a victim! Used and abused by the system.

We had a short break at Dreams Madeira Resort. First impressions were that the resort was lovely, Renata on reception was very welcoming. She helped us book ahead for 2 restaurants - highly recommend Oishi Teppanyaki and Carvao the food was excellent! We found the world food buffet restaurant varied. The resort had a good selection of bars, restaurants, a cafe & an ice cream shop by the marina! We stayed in a double room which was nicely decorated and a good size. Had a bath and shower! Some thought needs to go into layout/storage - not much drawer space and no mirrors with electrical points for drying hair etc. There was some times when there was a sewage smell but not sure why as it did then clear. The location is a bit remote, however with everything on site you would have everything you need for a relaxing break. The PR8 hike is in walking distance and the hotel offer a shuttle to Funchal for the day - €10each way pp. They have a guest experience team to help arrange other activities and whale/dolphin boat tours at the marina. Carolina & Pedro of the entertainment team were great - recommend the Poncha & Intro to Portuguese. My husband was injured while on site which was not ideal, more care for site facilities is needed as this could have been avoided. Following this the staff did everything they could to assist us in getting medical treatment and card - we are especially grateful to the staff, lifegaurd Orlando, Artur of the guest team and Joao the resort driver!
